Austin Peay State University led research team names new crayfish species for 101st Airborne Division

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – The stream beds on the Tennessee side of Fort Campbell harbor a rare treasure, a rusty-brown crayfish with white-tipped claws that exists nowhere else in the world. Former Austin Peay State University (APSU) graduate student Erin Bloom led the research that identified the crayfish as a new species.

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Last Friday morning, Dr. Alisa White, Austin Peay State University president, told several community leaders that she is proud of the University’s record enrollment of 10,954 students and Austin Peay’s position as the fastest-growing university in Tennessee.

The mid-term goal is to reach 13,000 students with an eventual steady enrollment state of 15,000 students.

College of STEM awards research grants to five Austin Peay graduate students

The research projects span from studying coal mining’s effects on a local fish to examining the history of the prairies of Middle Tennessee.

ALDI Brings Fresh Shopping Experience to Clarksville

ALDIClarksville, TN – After 16 years serving the community, ALDI will open a new Clarksville location, offering a smarter, faster and easier grocery shopping experience. The new store will be located at 1570 Fort Campbell Boulevard, and will replace the current store located at 1626 Fort Campbell Boulevard, which will close its doors on Sunday, March 10th.

To celebrate the new store opening, ALDI will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, March 14th at 8:45am, followed by its popular Golden Ticket giveaway offering gift cards to the first 100 customers. Shoppers can also sample ALDI-exclusive brand foods and enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a year’s supply of ALDI produce.

The CECA Tennessee Artist Fellowship was created to celebrate contemporary art and to support the continued creative work of exceptional Tennessee artists.

Austin Peay State University (APSU) officials on Wednesday, January 9th, 2019 unveiled the first of three helicopters in its new rotor-wing fleet. Miller Town Apartments Renovation adds Affordable Housing in Clarksville

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Miller Town Apartments celebrated a grand reopening Wednesday after renovating all 96 apartment homes, thanks in part to funding assistance from the Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA).

The apartments are on Jack Miller Boulevard near Fort Campbell and feature two and three-bedroom apartment homes with modern kitchens, an outdoor pool, a playground and a community room.
