If you’re a Tennessee resident who could qualify for undergraduate admission to a college, university, career college, or technical school, and you need financial aid and help filling out the FAFSA, then College Goal Sunday is for you. Port Royal State Park Announces New Interpretive Exhibits

Tennessee State ParksAdams, TN – Port Royal State Park today announced the installation of five new outdoor interpretive exhibits, designed to tell the story of the area’s history including information about the town of Port Royal and the Trail of Tears.

“As the first outdoor interpretative signage in the park, this is a great milestone toward our efforts to enhance visitors’ experiences in Port Royal State Park,” said Park Manager Allen Fenoseff. “These new exhibits will educate park visitors about the historic significance of Port Royal and the part this area played in shaping the state of Tennessee.”

Because Port Royal played such an important role in how travelers or settlers passed through Tennessee, transportation themes are prominently featured as part of the local community’s history. [Read more]

New Reagan Giving Circle at Austin Peay State University receives $10,000 boost in honor of Marketing Professor

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – For more than a decade, Dr. Carmen Reagan has served on the Delta Dental of Tennessee board of directors, helping the organization to expand across Tennessee.

“We relied on her for her corporate citizenship,” said Tom Perry, chief financial officer and an alumnus of Austin Peay State University. He graduated in 1973, having been a student of Reagan’s in the APSU College of Business.

It was fitting then that Perry presented a $10,000 check from Delta Dental to help jumpstart the new Reagan Giving Circle program. The check presentation was made November 8th during a reception to launch officially the giving program in honor of Reagan.

Roxy Regional Theatre’s 29th Season Brings Something for Everyone

Roxy Regional TheatreClarksville, TN – With the musical hit Beehive: The ’60s Musical Sensation bringing down the house nightly through October 15th, the Roxy Regional Theatre, Clarksville, has opened its 29th season of classics, musicals, regional premieres and world premieres.

For two nights only, October 21st and 22nd, New York actor Ashton Crosby brings his tour of Mark Twain: Adventures in American Humor back to the Roxy stage. Then on October 28th and 29th, the infamous Mercury Theatre 1938 radio broadcast will be recreated live on stage with The War of the Worlds.
