The Customs House Museum and Cultural CenterClarksville, TN – Visions & Feelings, a new exhibit by Tennessee artist Linda Kerlin embodies a sense of the fanciful. Delicate women collaged into a mixed media frenzy of color and script leads the viewer feeling like they have stumbled into someone’s diary.

These works are inspired by Kerlin’s environment and her love of antiques, decorating, and landscaping. Each painting displayed in the museum’s Harvill Gallery certainly is telling stories within the canvas and paper. [Read more]

TVA’s Tennessee Valley Electric Lineman Rodeo was alot of Fun

Clarksville, TN – The Tennessee Valley Authority, along with the City of Clarksville, the Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation (CEMC) and CDE Lightband played host to the Tennessee Valley Electric Lineman Rodeo at McGregor Park in Clarksville, Tennessee from June 7th-9th.

This multi-day event allowed electrical workers from throughout the region compete against one another to see who’s the best of the best 45 feet in the air. When the lights go out, for an electric line worker, duty calls. He puts his life on the line to ensure we are able to enjoy all the conveniences that electricity provides to us.

G’s Pancake House Creates Giant 16 inch 15 Pound Cheese Burger To Help Raise Funds For: Local Charitable Organizations

G's Pancake HouseClarksville, TN – In the year 2011 G’s Pancake House Restaurant held two charity events to help local organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville Tennessee rise funds to help keep their organization doors open.

Already famous for their pancakes, G’s held a pancake eating contest titled the Triple Nickel Pancake Challenge Throwdown. Each contestant had to eat five 16 inch massive pancakes, five strips of bacon and five scrambled eggs totaling 10 lbs. The goal was to be first one to finish or the last one with the least amount left on their plate in just one hour.

APSU gets International Recognition for Student Success Initiative

More than a year ago, APSU launched Degree Compass, a course recommendation system to help students stay on track toward graduation by. It was dubbed “the Netflix effect” because it provides students with personalized recommendations based on their academic transcript, similar to the way Netflix makes movie suggestions to customers. Montgomery County Free Driving Program sees Overwhelming Response

Montgomery CountyMontgomery County, TN – Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for ages 15-19 in the United States.

In an effort to lower this statistic, the Montgomery County Driver Safety Program provided a free Defensive Driving Course, Alive at 25, to approximately 200 Montgomery County high school students during the months of February, March and April.
