APSU is joined by 26 tenure-track faculty

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – A total of 26 new tenure-track faculty members have become part of the Austin Peay State University community, beginning with the Fall 2014 semester.

Dr. Kadi Bliss, assistant professor of health and human performance, earned her Ph.D. in health education from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist and a member of the American Association of Health Education and the Society of Public Health Education. [Read more]

Tennessee State University Cooperative ExtensionMontgomery County, TN – Tennessee State University is conducting a New Farmer Academy and Montgomery County was honored to host and provide education to participants. Six participant’s visited McCraw’s Strawberry Ranch this past Monday, August 18th.

Billy and Teresa McCraw, owners and 2014 recipients of the Small Farmers Award in Alternative Enterprises category, demonstrated how they plant plasticulture strawberries.

Entries now being accepted for the 53rd Annual Christmas Parade

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government have partnered with Agero to host the 53rd Annual Christmas Parade.

The parade will be a night-time, lighted Christmas parade and is scheduled for December 1st, 2012 beginning at 5:00pm.

This year’s parade will feature both the Austin Peay State University Governors Own Marching Band and the Tennessee State University Band, dozens of businesses and organizations, as well as Santa Claus.

Dr. Tristan Denley, provost and vice president of academic affairs, was interviewed for a story in the December 11th, 2011, issue of The Chronicle of Higher Education about how educational data mining to customize student experiences and selections. Natural Playgrounds are outdoor spaces for learning and discovery, having fun and growing things! Natural playgrounds are a proven safe, healthy alternative to traditional playground facilities. This workshop will be interactive and will cover topics including natural playgrounds 101 (introduction), funding opportunities, planning and design of natural playgrounds, and how to start/what to expect!
