Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Seeing UH60 Black Hawk helicopters circling above is not unusual in Clarksville Tennessee. However, seeing them land at Austin Peay State University’s campus in Downtown Clarksville is.

As part of a coordinated effort between Austin Peay’s Governors Guard ROTC program and the Tennessee National Guard, the APSU ROTC department has arranged to have Black Hawk helicopters land on campus three times over the next several weeks.

3rd annual Be More Like Wade Scholarship 5K Run/Walk/Crawl continues success

Wade Morgan - Be More Like WadeCunningham, TN – The 3rd annual Be More Like Wade Scholarship 5K Run/Walk/Crawl, in honor of Wade Morgan, was held Saturday, July 29th, 2017 at the Montgomery Central High School. Registration began at 8:00am and the race started at 8:30am.

It was just perfect weather for the event. Partly sunny with a slight breeze that kept everyone cool.

“Compared to the weather we have had just over the last couple of days, this weather is exactly what we prayed for,” stated Jessica Morgan, sister-in-law of Wade Morgan.

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – The goat, a runt in terms of size, limped around a make-shift pen set up on the grounds of the Austin Peay State University Environmental Education Center, or APSU farm.

His hoof was overgrown and infected, prompting APSU adjunct professor of agriculture Bob Moore to pull out a pair of metal trimmers and clip back the gnarled, black growth as if it were simply a long fingernail.

Paychecks for Patriots Hiring Fair Thursday, October 25th

Tennessee Career Center at ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – On Thursday, October 25th, the Tennessee Career Center of Clarksville will hold Paychecks for Patriots Hiring Fair from 10:00am-2:00pm.

The Tennessee Department of Labor has partnered with Dollar General and several major employers in Tennessee to connect veterans with jobs. The “Paychecks for Patriots” hiring fair will be held on October 25th in 13 Tennessee Career Centers throughout the state and will feature local employers interested in putting veterans to work. Hands On ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – “America Sings!” will be held Sunday, September 11th, 2011 at the Austin Peay University, Clement Auditorium from 12:00pm to 3:30pm.

Many of the performers have served in the military, come from military families, or volunteered their time playing for our troops both nationally and internationally. They are ALL donating their time and talents for this effort, which will be submitted to The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) for their “10th Anniversary Challenge”, allowing Clarksville to qualify for a grant to be used to support future 9/11 events and projects.
