8 CMCSS Schools Labeled ‘Reward’ Schools
Montgomery County, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County School System continues to see academic success for its students. The State Department of Education today recognized nine CMCSS schools as “Reward Schools” for exceptional gains made in academic growth or achievement.
The state currently is labeling the system’s designation as “pending” while it reverifies CMCSS data. The designation likely will be made in December. CMCSS is one of five school districts in the state that the Department is reverifying.

Woodall chosen by Tennessee School Boards Association
Montgomery County, TN – Stanley Woodall, the school system’s Parent Ambassador for Sango Elementary School, has been selected to receive the 2016 Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA) Mid-Cumberland School Volunteer Recognition Award.
Woodall was recognized Thursday night at the TSBA Fall District Meeting at Stewart County Middle School.
Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) fills Administrator Positions

Montgomery County, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) has selected three candidates to fill administrator positions for the upcoming school year.
Current assistant principal, Scott Wainwright, has been appointed to serve as the principal of New Providence Middle School. Rossview Middle School teacher, Jenette Spurbeck, has been chosen as an assistant principal at Clarksville High School (CHS). Richview Middle School (RIMS) teacher, Lisa Courson, has been selected as an assistant principal at RIMS.

Acuff Circle of Excellence to honor Joe W. Giles with Ovation Award

Clarksville, TN – Joe W. Giles, an Austin Peay State University alumnus and founder of the Tennessee Arts Academy, the nation’s flagship professional development program for teachers of the arts, will be honored March 1st with the George Mabry Ovation Award.
The award is one of eight to be given by the Acuff Circle of Excellence in recognition of outstanding contributions in the arts to the Clarksville-Montgomery County community. The annual ceremony will be Sunday, March 1st, from 2:00pm-3:30pm at the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center. The public is invited to attend the ceremony and a reception that follows. Clarksville Montgomery County School System Scores 3 A’s, 1 B in Achievement on State Report Card

Montgomery County, TN – The Tennessee Department of Education today released its system by system report card and Clarksville-Montgomery County has scored an all-time high in both achievement and growth since the transition to the Tennessee Diploma Project standards.
CMCSS earned three A’s and one B in Achievement and three B’s and one A in student growth.

Montgomery County, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County School System earned bragging rights as the Tennessee Department of Education announced student performance on the 2012 Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program.
CMCSS has improved in achievement proficiency in all subject areas and grades, with the exception of U.S. History, which remains at an exceptionally high 97 percent proficient. [Read more]
