City of Clarksville to celebrate Arbor Day on April 5th

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville will celebrate Arbor Day by planting two poplar trees at 11:00am on Friday, April 5th, 2019 at Barksdale Elementary School, 1920 Madison Street.
The trees to be planted have been donated by the Clarksville Tree Board.

Nashville, TN – Tennessee just made global news for its award winning wines.
Tennessee wineries took home 21 medals from the recent Indy International Wine Competition at Purdue University, one of the nation’s largest wine competitions.
The West Lafayette, Indiana event attracted more than 2,300 wines from 39 states and 14 countries as far away as France, Australia, Chile and Greece. The wines were judged by 44 international experts in a completely blind taste competition based on appearance, aroma, taste and aftertaste.
UT Extension Launches Online Domestic Kitchen Certification Course

Knoxville, TN – Earning certification to prepare, manufacture and sell certain foods from a home kitchen is now more convenient for Tennesseans thanks to a new online training module from University of Tennessee Extension.
Domestic Kitchen Food Safety Training, which launched Wednesday, February 1st, provides instruction centered around the state’s Domestic Kitchen Rule. The rule allows people to commercially prepare, manufacture and sell non-potentially hazardous foods in the home while ensuring the public’s health is protected. [Read more]

Congratulations to Chris Rhinehart and Scarlett Mulligan of Montgomery County, owners of RiverView Mounds Farm www.riverviewmoundsfarm.com who are the winners of the 2010 Tennessee Small Farmer of the Year in the Alternative Enterprises for the estimated gross farm income of less than $50,000 category and the 2010 Tennessee Small Farmer of the Year award. It has been a great honor to work with Chris and Scarlett during the past few years and they are very well deserving of this award!
