Clarksville, TN – On Monday, June 17th, 2019, Austin Peay State University (APSU) and the Tennessee Army National Guard announced they’re partnering on a special tuition deferment program for Guard members.

Nashville, TN – O’Charley’s Restaurant + Bar locations throughout Clarksville will offer free $9.99er meals to veterans on Monday, November 9th.
All veterans who show their military ID can choose from one of nine $9.99er meals including O’Charley’s Famous Chicken Tenders & Twisted Chips, Bayou Shrimp Pasta and Chicken Fried Steak, among other meals. Restaurant participation may vary by location.
Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs commissioner Many-Bears Grinder to speak at Austin Peay ceremony honoring military graduates

Clarksville, TN – The Commissioner for the Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs (TDVA) is coming to Austin Peay State University on December 10th to help honor a special group of graduating APSU students.
At 5:00pm that afternoon, the University will host its Fall 2014 Military and Veterans Graduate Recognition Ceremony in the Mabry Concert Hall, with Many-Bears Grinder, the state’s first female TDVA commissioner, serving as the keynote speaker. [Read more]
Head of Tennessee Promise Mike Krause to speak at Ausitn Peay State University’s 2014 Fall Commencement

Clarksville, TN – Mike Krause is the type of person who likes a challenge. In the fall of 2006, he completed his bachelor’s degree at Austin Peay State University while still serving as a soldier in the 101st Airborne Division.
Eight years later, as executive director of the Tennessee Promise and Drive to 55 Initiative in the Office of Governor Bill Haslam, he is in charge of one of the most ambitious programs in the state’s history.
Fallen Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputy David ‘Bubba’ Johnson to be honored with events Saturday, July 19th

Montgomery County, TN – Two back-to-back events will be held Saturday in honor of fallen Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Deputy David “Bubba” Johnson.
First, the Inaugural Bubba Johnson Memorial 5K Road Race begins at 8:30am Saturday, July 19th beginning at The Montgomery County Historic Courthouse, Clarksville, TN. There is also a 1-mile “fun run-walk” that will begin and end at Clarksville First Baptist Church.
