F&M Bank announces Promotions

Clarksville, TN – F&M Bank has announced the following promotions of four veteran mortgage employees, according to Sammy Stuard, bank CEO and president.
Denise Alexander, vice president and operation manager for F&M’s mortgage department has been promoted to senior vice president of F&M Bank.
Yvonne Witzler, assistant vice president and manager of F&M’s mortgage office in Clarksville has been promoted to vice president of F&M Bank.

Making the presentation are Deneen Clayton and Shinika Jenkins, GRH loan specialists, and Don Harris, GRH Housing program director. Accepting the award for F&M are: DeWayne Olive, executive vice president and chief financial officer; Denise Alexander, vice president and mortgage operation manager; Yvonne Witzler, assistant vice president and manager for the bank’s Clarksville mortgage office; and Rodney Wilds, manager for the bank’s Brentwood mortgage office.
Heritage Bank parent company HopFed Bancorp, Inc. to acquire Tennessee-Based Sumner Bank & Trust

Hopkinsville, KY – HopFed Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: HFBC) (“HopFed”), the parent company of Heritage Bank in Hopkinsville, Kentucky (“Heritage”), today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Sumner Bank & Trust (OTC Pink: SBKT), based in Gallatin, Tennessee (“Sumner”).
HopFed has agreed to pay approximately $14.3 million in cash, or $10.04 per share, to purchase all of the common stock and common stock equivalents of Sumner, including common stock that would be issued upon the conversion of Sumner’s convertible preferred stock upon a change of control (subject to adjustments). Clarksville Mayor McMillan receives Hank Thompson Award

Clarksville, TN – At the recent Greater Nashville Regional Council meeting, Mayor Kim McMillan was presented with The Hank Thompson Award.
The award was created in honor of R. J. “Hank” Thompson (former Sumner County Executive, Hendersonville Mayor and two-time Greater Nashville Regional Council President) and is presented to an outstanding individual in the region to recognize personal and political integrity.

Dr. Chad Brooks, associate professor of biology, co-authored an article about an amphibian-lethal virus in west Tennessee, and the article is published in the latest edition of Herpetological Review. Clarksville, TN – The Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) has recognized F&M Mortgage as one of its top five lenders statewide for the second year in a row. In addition, the USDA Rural Development has recognized the organization with its Premier Lender Award for outstanding loan production in rural Tennessee communities.
