Pooch Pool Party was a wonderful event for pets and their owners

August 15, 2011

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville held their first Pooch Pool Party this weekend at the Swan Lake Swimming Pool. Around 60 pets participated in this ground breaking event for the City of Clarksville. One reason that Swan Lake pool was chosen was due to the fact that the kids wading pool is the only zero-entry swimming pool in our area. Both of the pools at the facility were open to the pets. Special ramps were attached to the hand rails to allow easy entry and exit from the main pool.

In addition to the swimming, there were several games held including a big splash contest. Liz McGraw’s Malti-poo (Maltese and Poodle mix) McKenzie won the contest for animals for 30 pounds and under. Door prizes from the various sponsors were also given away.

October 20, 2010

Written by HSCMC President Stacey Hopwood

Humane Society of Clarksville – Montgomery County (HSCMC)Clarksville, TN – On Tuesday night, October 12th, the place to be in Clarksville was the Roxy Regional Theatre. Four hilarious comedians rocked the house with laughter as the Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County benefited from a gala night.

Comedy on the Cumberland was the brainchild of Clarksville talk show host and comedian Hank Bonecutter, who saw a demand for stand up comedy in the Clarksville/Fort Campbell community. “With the help of sponsors like F&M Bank, Wendy’s, and Wyatt Johnson, we knew we could affect change in our community”, said Bonecutter. “All of the proceeds generated through the show’s ticket sales go directly to the charity, so people can make a tax deductible donation and enjoy a great show”.

Comedy on the Cumberland organizer Hank Bonecutter presents HSCMC Programs Director Amy Shaver with $3420 in proceeds from ticket sales for the October 12th COTC benefit show.
