Murals, Sculptures, Fountains and Flames Fill Clarksville’s Public Art Trail

Visit Clarksville TennesseeClarksville, TN – Clarksville unveiled its 21st public art piece this month. Twelve of the pieces – at least – are in a proximity that’s easily walkable within the city’s downtown core.

Murals, sculptures, fountains, and flames are among the art pieces you’ll see showcased along city streets, urban trails, buildings and throughout the campus of Austin Peay State University, which is adjacent to downtown. Many of the works were designed or created by Clarksville artists.

Clarksville's Customs House Museum and Cultural CenterClarksville, TN – Endurance in Form: A Retrospective, Tom Rice’s exhibition at the Customs House Museum, is a visual history of his growth as a Tennessee artist.

Included in the extensive show are pieces created from high school to the present, encompassing his experiences and influence of studying abroad, being mentored by the late Olen Bryant, through a 25 year teaching career.

Women Writers’ Hour Event at the Customs House Museum

Clarksville's Customs House Museum and Cultural CenterClarksville, TN – The Customs House Museum will kick off the month of October with a Writers’ Hour in conjunction with the exhibit This Is My Story. The event takes place on October 1st, 2017 at 2:00pm and will include readings by some of the women featured in the show.

Women writers representing multiple decades shared their thoughts of who they are on Mother’s Day. Their writings are suspended on cloth, hung “clothesline style” in the Museum’s Jostens Gallery.
