Clarksville, TN – The sixth season fall premiere of TLC’s primetime hit show Toddlers & Tiaras will have a hometown feel for the residents of Clarksville-Montgomery County, Tennessee.
The newest season of Toddlers & Tiaras, the series that launched the TV career of the infamous Honey Boo Boo, will include 13 one-hour long episodes that give a behind-the-scenes look at the competitive lives of these tiny beauty queens and their pageant-loving parents, who are all vying for the coveted sparkly crown.

Southern Divisional Bass Tournament 2013 Champion named at Clarksville Marina

Clarksville, TN – The Bass Federation Inc.’s Southern Divisional Tournament, hosted by The Tennessee Bass Federation, held their final weigh-in on Friday, June 7th with David Kneece being named the 2013 overall champion.
Kneece is from Gilbert, SC and had a three-day total of 41 pounds, nine-ounces. [Read more]
Southern Divisional Bass Tournament Finals To Be Held Tomorrow

Clarksville, TN – The Bass Federation Inc.’s 2013 Southern Divisional Tournament, hosted by The Tennessee Bass Federation, Inc., will be holding their final weigh-ins on Friday, June 7th at the Clarksville Marina to determine the winner of this year’s competition.
This year’s tournament has seen nearly 84 boaters from all over the South, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and North and South Carolina.
Clarksville to host Southern Division Bass Tournament

Clarksville, TN – The Tennessee Bass Federation, Inc., part of the largest Grass Roots Bass Fishing organization in the country, will be hosting the 2013 Southern Divisional Tournament at the Clarksville Marina at Liberty Park June 5th-7th.
This year’s tournament will see participants from all over the South, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and North and South Carolina. There are 175 boaters scheduled to compete in the tournament. Teams will be pre-fishing June 2nd-4th, with the actual tournament competition taking place June 5th-7th. [Read more]
New APSU students, community encouraged to read ‘Saints at the River’

Clarksville, TN – This summer, Austin Peay State University will welcome new students who will register for classes and pick up one of their books that will serve as the common reading assignment for Fall 2013 semester.
The new book is “Saints at the River” by Ron Rash, and the community also is invited to read the book and participate in the campus events and book discussions beginning in September. New student orientation and registration will begin May 18th and continue throughout the summer. [Read more]
Austin Peay Downtown Gallery presents the exhibit “Collective II”

Clarksville, TN – A new exhibit at the Austin Peay Downtown Gallery this month will highlight of the work of APSU alumnus Young Kim and APSU art instructor Becky Hall. The exhibit, “Collective II,” will open with a reception from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on February 7th, and it will run through March 2nd.
Kim, a native of South Korea, is an associate professor of art at Elon University in North Carolina. He received his Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Kentucky and his Bachelor of Fine Arts from APSU. His work has been exhibited extensively at numerous galleries, including the Second Street Gallery in Charlottesville, VA, the Hun Gallery in New York City and Causey Contemporary in Brooklyn.

Dr. Mike Gotcher, chair of the APSU Department of Communication, Dr. Anna Filippo, assistant professor of communication, Tracy Nichols, communication instructor, and Dr. Melony Shemberger, assistant director of communication in the APSU Public Relations Office, judged various individual events and debate rounds at the Northeast High School Speech and Debate Tournament held February 4th at the school in Clarksville. Washington, D.C. – Three years after the Civil War ended, on May 5th, 1868, the head of an organization of Union veterans — the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) — established Decoration Day as a time for the nation to decorate the graves of the war dead with flowers. Maj. Gen. John A. Logan declared that Decoration Day should be observed on May 30th. It is believed that date was chosen because flowers would be in bloom all over the country.
