APSU names retired Lt. Col. Michael Peeler as inaugural assistant director for veteran and career advising

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) recently named retired Lt. Col. Michael L. Peeler, former U.S. Army Field Artillery officer, first assistant director for veteran and career advising.
In this new role, Peeler will provide career counseling to the University’s military-affiliated students, as well as assist students and alumni with career exploration, internship opportunities and job preparation.

State of Tennessee awards APSU $100,000 grant to host Veterans’ Reconnect Conference

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) was recently awarded a $100,000 grant from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) to host a two-day Veterans’ Reconnect Conference on the University’s campus.
The conference, “Bridging the Gaps: Tennessee Institutions Leading the Change for Military/Veteran Transition,” will take place October 14th-15th, 2019 at the APSU Morgan University Center.
APSU introduces first helicopter in its rotor-wing fleet

Clarksville, TN – GOV 1 has landed. Austin Peay State University (APSU) officials on Wednesday, January 9th, 2019 unveiled the first of three helicopters in its new rotor-wing fleet. The helicopters bolster the state’s first and only aviation science program with a rotor-wing concentration.

“This is a very military-friendly town, but it’s an incredibly military-friendly college,” he said.
APSU hosting Military Appreciation Day during November 5th football game

Clarksville, TN – This Saturday, November 5th, 2016, the Austin Peay State University athletics department will honor local veterans and military-affiliated individuals with a special Military Appreciation Day during APSU’s 4:00pm football game at Fortera Stadium.
All veterans, active-duty personnel and their families will receive free admission to the game with a current military I.D., and several military vehicles will be on display in tailgate alley and inside the stadium.
