For the seventh consecutive year, longtime supporters Mark, Ricki, John Mark and Will Holleman will host “Happenin’ at the Hollemans,” an evening of entertainment featuring the unveiling of the Roxy Regional Theatre’s highly-anticipated Season 37, on Friday, May 10th, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

Clarskville's Roxy Regional TheatreClarksville, TN – Funny, outrageous, emotionally affecting and occasionally angry … Eve Ensler’s wildly popular series of monologues about women and performed by women is back for the sixteenth year with the Roxy Regional Theatre’s presentation of “The Vagina Monologues”, January 12th – January 27th.

Returning favorites Emily Rourke (most recently seen as Patty in A Charlie Brown Christmas) and Michelle Foletta (whom audiences may remember as Daisy in The Great Gatsby and, most recently, as Sally in A Charlie Brown Christmas) will take the stage of the Roxy’s theotherspace in readings of these monologues based on interviews Eve Ensler conducted with 200 women about their views on sex, relationships and violence against women.

Block Party at Sango Village in Clarksville, Saturday

Clarksville, TN – The businesses at Sango Village will be hosting a block party on August 16th, 2014. The local business owners have created the free event to give back to the community.

Leslie Greene and Adriane Wiley-Hatfield are joined by a different guest actor each week in readings of these monologues based on interviews Eve Ensler conducted with 200 women about their views on sex, relationships, and violence against women.

Roxy Regional TheatreClarksville, TN – If you haven’t been to the Roxy Regional Theatre to see “9 to 5: the Musical,” the real question is why not! Time is running out. Outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic, “9 to 5: The Musical” tells the story of three unlikely friends who, even in a man’s world, prove there’s nothing they can’t do! The musical is based on the 1980’s film, which starred Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda, and Lily Tomlin.

The musical stars Bailey Hanks as as the vivacious Doralee Rhodes; Amanda Morgan as Violet Newstead, the department supervisor; Lital Abrahams as housewife turned secretary Judy Bernly; Colin Ryan as everyone’s favorite “Sexist, Egotistical, Lying, Hypocritical Bigot” of a boss, Franklin Hart, Jr.; and Jill Twiss, as his administrative assistant and office spy Roz Keith. They are backed up by an incredible supporting cast.

City votes on Clarksville’s Best for the March of Dimes

Best of Clarksville PosterClarksville, Tenn -The Best of Clarksville fundraiser for the March of Dimes is eagerly awaited each year by both businesses and area residents. The fundraiser this year featured 140 businesses in 65 categories; each one looking to score the votes of area residents to be declared The Best of Clarksville. The event consists of local vendor booths, silent auctions, dance performances, free give-a-ways, and a fireworks show by Allen’s Fireworks. All of the money raised is donated to the March of Dimes.

Matthews Nissan Suzuki was the presenting sponsor. Other sponsors included Five Star Radio, Sango Village Florist, US Bank, Cumberland Bank and Trust, FedEx, Allen’s Fireworks, Ad One Advertising, WJZM 1400 AM, and The Leaf-Chronicle.
