Montgomery County, TN – Dr. Mason Bellamy has been named Director of Services for Exceptional Children beginning March 17th. Dr. Bellamy has served as principal of Hazelwood Elementary School since 2012. He will replace Cara Alexander who is retiring.

Open Enrollment in Clarksville Montgomery County School System going on now through February 25th

Montgomery County, TN – Specific grade levels in 14 elementary schools and all grades at Kenwood Middle are available for open enrollment for the Clarksville Montgomery County School 2013-14 school year.

Clarksville Montgomery County School System names new Clarksville High School Principal

Montgomery County, TN – Jean Luna, who has served as assistant principal at Clarksville High, has been appointed by Schools Director Mike Harris as the new CHS principal.
“To be appointed principal of Clarksville High School is a great honor. The history and traditions connected with CHS make it a very special place within the community. I’m excited to work collectively with students, parents, faculty, staff, and stakeholders to continue the excellence associated with being a Wildcat,” Mrs. Luna said.
Hazelwood Elementary School Principal Selected

Montgomery County, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County Director of Schools Mike Harris today announced that Mason Bellamy, Ed.D. will serve as principal of Hazelwood Elementary.
He replaces Rosanne Sanford who was named principal of the Carmel Elementary, which opens in August 2012.
Dr. Bellamy has served as assistant principal at West Creek Elementary for the past year and a half and has five years teaching experience at Sango Elementary. He earned his doctorate in education from Trevecca Nazarene University where he also earned his Master’s in teaching. He completed his B.A. in political science at the University of Kentucky.
Hazelwood, located on Tiny Town Road, serves 800 students.
Parks Public Input Meeting June 21st

Montgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Parks and Recreation will conduct a Public Input meeting regarding the future development of a public park in the Sango area on Tuesday, June 21st at 6:30pm at Sango Elementary School.
About Park Land: Approximately 15 acres of land connected to the Carmel Elementary School property will be developed as a public park. The Montgomery County Parks and Recreation Department is seeking citizen input to guide the development of a public park that serves the community.
Annual Science Fair A Big Success For Students

CMCSS Kindergarten Roundups Announced

Montgomery County, TN – Kindergarten roundups in CMCSS give parents and guardians the opportunity to learn more about the kindergarten experience as their children begin their academic journey.
Children who attend also will receive a complimentary backpack filled with learning activities for the summer before starting school. The backpacks are provided by the CMC Education Foundation thanks to sponsors Valerie Hunter-Kelly of Keller-Williams Realtors and Clarksville Pediatric Dentistry.
