Thirty Two Graduate from Regional Leadership Program

Leadership Middle TennesseeNashville, TN – Thirty two community and business leaders from Middle Tennessee have graduated from Leadership Middle Tennessee, Inc., a regional leadership institute.

The 2015 class is from the 10-county area which includes Cheatham County, Davidson County, Dickson County, Maury County, Montgomery County, Robertson County, Rutherford County, Sumner County, Williamson County and Wilson County.

Making the presentation are Deneen Clayton and Shinika Jenkins, GRH loan specialists, and Don Harris, GRH Housing program director. Accepting the award for F&M are: DeWayne Olive, executive vice president and chief financial officer; Denise Alexander, vice president and mortgage operation manager; Yvonne Witzler, assistant vice president and manager for the bank’s Clarksville mortgage office; and Rodney Wilds, manager for the bank’s Brentwood mortgage office.

F&M Mortgage Receives Statewide Recognition from THDA and USDA Rural Development

Clarksville, TN – The Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) has recognized F&M Mortgage as one of its top five lenders statewide for the second year in a row. In addition, the USDA Rural Development has recognized the organization with its Premier Lender Award for outstanding loan production in rural Tennessee communities.

AT&T and The Nashville Symphony bring music Rossview Elementary School students

New History Class to teach importance of preserving past

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Most of the papers had turned yellow and brittle. For years, they’d been hidden away in boxes inside offices in Stewart County. They were mostly old, out-dated legal documents, and since the county couldn’t afford to hire an archivist, they remained forgotten in their boxes.

Then one afternoon, Teresa Prober, a historian and history instructor at Austin Peay State University, volunteered to go through the papers. She was amazed by the historical significance of what she found.

“We found an original land grant from 1783, just sitting in a box,” she said. “We have a document with Sam Houston’s signature on it. In Stewart County.” [Read more]
