Clarksville, TN -The next movie in the “Planters Bank Presents…” film series will be “Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein”. This movie will be shown this Sunday, October 20th, 2016 at the Roxy Regional Theatre at 2:00pm.
“Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein” is about two hapless train freight handlers that find themselves encountering Dracula, the Frankenstein Monster and the Wolf Man when dealing with a shipment destined for a local wax museum, “McDougal House Of Horrors”.

Clarksville, TN – Local youth will have the opportunity to work alongside professional actors when the Roxy Regional Theatre holds children’s auditions for elves in Harry Connick, Jr.’s “The Happy Elf” on Saturday, October 22nd, at 1:00pm.
Children ages 10 and up should come prepared with “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” and be dressed to move in comfortable clothing and shoes, as the audition will also include a dance portion. All auditionees will sing through “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” with the recorded track prior to individual auditions.

Clarksville, TN – Historic Downtown Clarksville is gearing up for the 11th Annual “FROLIC ON FRANKLIN: A Celebration of the Arts” on Saturday, September 24th, from 8:30am to 3:30pm. This free event will showcase the works of more than 30 artists, staged entertainment and art demonstrations — all along the 100 block of historic Franklin Street.
A variety of original fine art, as well as handmade crafts, will be on display including paintings and photography, jewelry, clay garden items, woodwork, purses and scarves, pottery, candles, jewelry, woven and knitted items, and seasonal gifts. Items will be for sale with prices ranging from $2.00 to $500.00.

Roxy Regional Theatre Celebrates 34 Years of Live Entertainment at GALA 34 on Saturday, September 24th

Clarksville, TN – The Roxy Regional Theatre, long regarded as one of the cornerstones of Historic Downtown Clarksville, is celebrating 34 years of live entertainment with an unforgettable evening of fabulous food, fine art and award-winning musical theatre.
On Saturday, September 24th, GALA 34 will officially kick off the Roxy Regional Theatre’s 2016-2017 season of professional live theatre on the corner of Franklin and First.
Documentaries Exploring Clarksville’s Past, Present, and Future to be shown at Roxy Regional Theatre

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville/Montgomery County Arts and Heritage Development Council and Roxy Regional Theatre will present during the month of September a series of six videos exploring people and events from Clarksville’s past, present and future.
The series will take place in the Roxy theatre on Sundays and Tuesdays and was made possible by a placemaking grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission. The showings are free and open to the public.
The videos run about 30 minutes and community members are encouraged to join in the discussion afterward exploring Clarksville’s unique character and how to maintain and enhance a strong sense of place in its citizens.

Documentary on the 1863-1890 diary of Clarksvillian Nannie Haskins Williams will be held Sunday, September 4th.
“Kit Kat Club” Presents a Musical Journey through the ’30s at the Roxy Regional Theatre, August 26th – September 10th

Clarksville, TN – Despite global panic in the 1930s, people found themselves rallying the only way they knew how — through music. Famed composer of the period Ira Gershwin once said, “A song without music is a lot like H2 without the O.”
Leading in to Season 34, the Roxy Regional Theatre is presenting a musical journey through the decade, cabaret style, with the new musical revue “Kit Kat Club”, August 26th – September 10th.
Created by Ryan Bowie and Sidney McCarty and directed by Bowie, this new musical revue is being presented as part of the Roxy’s “On The Terrazzo” Series, which features performances in the intimate setting of the theatre’s lobby.
