Roxy Regional Theatre enters phased reopening in September with Planters Bank Presents… Film Series

Clarksville, TN – Following a six-month hiatus, Clarksville’s oldest professional theatre is slated to begin a phased reopening this September with a host of movie favorites in the Roxy Regional Theatre’s popular Planters Bank Presents… Film Series.
The Roxy Regional Theatre theatre went dark in mid-March before being able to open its production of “A Streetcar Named Desire”, due to recommendations from state and local officials regarding the escalating COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic and in the interest of the safety of patrons, performers and staff.

Clarksville, TN – The Roxy Regional Theatre is participating in The Big Payback, a community-wide online giving day hosted by The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. It starts today, Wednesday, May 6th at 6:00pm.
With the recent disasters in our region — the tornadoes, COVID-19 Coronavirus and the unfolding economic downturn — this year it’s more important than ever to help lift up nonprofit, school and faith-based organizations.

Roxy Reads [From Home]… Tony Kushner’s “Angels In America”, March 21st

Clarksville, TN – During the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak and the Roxy Regional Theatre’s temporary closure, the Roxy invites you to join them for our “Roxy Reads [From Home]” series.
Each week we will feature a play or musical, for which members are encouraged to purchase the script through a provided Amazon link and read along with us throughout the week.
Members will be invited to a closed Facebook Group, where we will treat the play or musical like a book club.

Clarksville, TN – One of the greatest works of American theatre is coming to the Roxy Regional Theatre, Clarksville’s oldest professional theatre, this month.
Dr. Joseph & Nancye Britton proudly present Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play “A Streetcar Named Desire” at the Roxy Regional Theatre, opening Friday, March 13th, at 8:00pm. In keeping with the theatre’s pay-what-you-can opening night tradition, all tickets not pre-sold at the regular price will go on sale at 7:30pm that evening for a $5.00 minimum donation.

Clarksville-Montgomery County School System names Anthony Johnson as Chief Communications Officer

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Clarksville Film Festival kicked off Friday, February 21st, 2020 when 11 teams of filmmakers gathered at Liberty Park’s Freedom Point to hear the competition rules and select movie genres.
What happened next was 52 hours of scripting, filming, editing — and very little sleep — as teams raced to submit their films by the deadline.

Clarksville Film Festival’s 11 films will be shown and awards presented at the Roxy Regional Theatre.

Clarksville, TN – The Roxy Regional Theatre is serving up a host of family-friendly favorites in March with the return of the Planters Bank Presents… Film Series, beginning with Disney’s beloved animated classic “Cinderella” on Sunday, March 1st, 2020 at 2:00pm.
Tickets for the first film in the series are now available at the Roxy Regional Theatre during regular box office hours (9:00am to 2:00pm, Monday through Friday, and one hour prior to show times).
