Clarksville, TN – On Friday, October 7th the Clarksville Montgomery County Humane Society is holding their Spay-ghetti Dinner at the Madison Street United Methodist Church.

If you are unable to attend this Friday’s Spay-ghetti Dinner fundraiser, you can still do your part to help make the event a success by donating any of the following:

Canned sodas, Bottled water, Napkins (red preferred, but any will do) or Gift cards for Olive Garden, Fazoli’s, Old Chicago, Petsmart or Pet Food Center (for drawings!!) [Read more]

Humane Society of Clarksville – Montgomery County (HSCMC)Clarksville, TN – On Friday, October 7th the Clarksville Montgomery County Humane Society is holding their Spay-ghetti Dinner at the Madison Street United Methodist Church. The dinner starts at 5:00pm with the last seating at 7:30pm.

Tickets are only $10.00 for Adults and $5.00 for Kids 10 and under.

Your support will help the Humane Society get one step closer to opening their Spay-Neuter facility. Clarksville’s first ever low cost high volume spay-neuter clinic.

Operation Serve Project to Sponsor Car Wash and more for Humane Society

Humane Society of Clarksville – Montgomery County (HSCMC)Clarksville, TN – The Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County has been named as one of several charities to benefit from this weekend’s Operation Serve effort.

This coming Saturday, September 24th from 9:00am-2:00pm, approximately 25 volunteers from Grace Community Church will gather at the Humane Society building to help them with various projects that they would otherwise not have the funds or manpower to complete themselves.

Riverside Drive Lane Closures for Riverfest & Park Information

Riverfest 2011Clarksville, TN – Lanes of Riverside Drive will be closed at various times for Riverfest, beginning September 8th and continuing through September 10th.

Traffic flow will be slower than usual during this time, so we recommend drivers plan alternate routes or give themselves plenty of time to travel to their destination. [Read more]

APSU Students produce Monograph on City’s Public Art Pieces

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Throughout the city of Clarksville, a number of statues and other pieces commemorate the history of the local community, honor heroes and celebrate the spirit of the town.

There’s the statue of John Montgomery, for whom Montgomery County is named, located in front of City Hall, facing Strawberry Alley downtown. The legend of Wilma Rudolph, Clarksville’s most famous woman athlete who was the first female to win three gold medals in the Olympics in 1960 in Rome, Italy, is preserved in her classic crossing-the-finish-line pose at McGregor Park at the intersection of College Street and Riverside Drive. Come down to McGregor Park Tonight and Celebrate Independence Day

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville and Aetna Insurance are joining together to celebrating our nation’s independence with the fourth annual Independence Day Celebration tonight down at McGregor Park. The event will be filled with food, fun and entertainment for the entire family. It all starts 6:00pm.

Local performers Tina Brown and Chris Robertson will provide live music throughout the evening, followed by country music artist, John Anderson. With more than 40 singles on the Billboard country music charts, Anderson has five Number Ones: “Wild and Blue,” “Swingin’,” “Black Sheep,” and “Money in the Bank.” The night will end with a spectacular fireworks finale, the largest in Clarksville.

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville wants to inform citizens that as of noon on Saturday, July 2nd, the boat ramp, courtesy dock and lower parking lot at McGregor Park will be closed to the public. The upper parking lot will close Sunday, July 3rd at 7:30am. Any vehicles left in these two lots after these times will be towed.

Riverside Drive Two Mile Yard Sale Starts Tomorrow

Yard SaleClarksville, TN – There will be a Two Mile Yard Sale held along Riverside Drive June 17th and 18th starting at 7:00am and running into the early afternoon. It will be the first occurrence with hopefully many more to come. Most local businesses will be setting up sale areas at their businesses.

The sales area starts at the Hooters/Taco Bell area and ends at Dairy Queen.

This is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come out to these sales and support the businesses that were affected by the Great Flood of 2010.

Opening Ceremony for CPD Youth Coalition Olympics

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – The opening ceremony for the Clarksville Police Department’s Youth Coalition Olympics will commence at the Clarksville Police Department, 135 Commerce Street, June 4th, 2011, 10:00am.

Around 9:30am, four members of the Youth Coalition escorted by members from the law enforcement, fire department, and emergency services will run from the intersection of Riverside Drive and North Second street to Police Headquarters to kick off the opening ceremonies. The public is invited to attend.
