Relay For Life Dinner Celebrates Strength and Courage, Prelude to Main Event

Relay for LifeClarksville, TN – On May 7th, more than 150 cancer survivors, caregivers, volunteers, supporters and friends gathered at the Hilldale Baptist Church Family Life Center at the Relay For Life 2nd Annual Survivors Dinner.

Introduced and organized by Bill and Joan Farmer, this year’s dinner was the best attendance (at the Survivor lunch and luncheon events) to date.

Relay For Life Supports APSU Breast Cancer 5k and Survivors Dinner

April 18, 2013

Relay for LifeClarksville, TN – On April 13th, in the midst of more than 200 runners, walkers and community supporters members of the Relay For Life Leadership joined the Breast Cancer 5k effort at Austin Peay State University.

Leadership Team members Karen Davis, Brittnye Farley, Paul Farley and Cydney Miller volunteered to assist with guiding and encouraging the runners and walkers on the 5k route.

Clarksville Athletic Club goes Pink to raise funds in support of Breast Cancer Research

The Clarksville Athletic Club donates $1,500 to the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research.

Clarksville Athletic ClubClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Athletic Club, while promoting wellness and fitness with conventional fitness equipment and activity, extends its message of overall wellness to giving back to the community by supporting women’s health during the month of October raising awareness of Breast Cancer.

The Clarksville Athletic Club involved its patrons in the Breast Cancer effort with the signature ribbon color (pink) while promoting fitness and commitment to giving back to the community.

American Cancer Society's Relay for LifeClarksville, TN – The American Cancer Society Relay For Life®of Montgomery County will get together at 6:00pm on September 18th with event volunteers and participants at the Hilldale Baptist Church Family Life Center to officially kickoff their fundraising efforts for the year.

The rally will feature speakers from the community who have benefited from funds raised at Relay, will honor cancer survivors as well as recognize this year’s participating teams and their contributions toward this effort. This event also marks the first opportunity to register a team and select a campsite for the overnight event to be held on May 18th, 2013.

Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department holds annual Easter Egg Hunt

Cunningham Volunteer Fire DepartmentCunningham, TN – The Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department held their Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday March 31st at the Montgomery Central Middle School. A total of 5,000 eggs were scattered into 4 separate lanes on the field. Each lane also had two special eggs containing grand prizes tickets. Each child was given a ticket for a chance to win door prizes at the end of the hunt.

American Cancer Society Relay For Life Will Hold Kickoff Rally on October 18th at Waterstreet Events Center

Relay for LifeClarksville, TN – On October 18th, 2011 at 6:00pm, the American Cancer Society Relay For Life® of Montgomery County will officially get underway as event volunteers and participants gather at the Waterstreet Events Center for a kickoff rally to launch their fundraising efforts for the year.

The rally will feature speakers from the community who have benefitted from the funds raised at Relay and will honor cancer survivors. This also will be the first opportunity to register a team and select a campsite for the overnight event to be held on May 18th at the activity field adjacent to the Hilldale Baptist Church Family Life Center. The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length. [Read more]

relay-for-lifeThe Relay for Life teams have join together for a fundraiser event to be held May 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sam’s Club parking lot. The relay will run in tandem with a yard sale / kids carnival. This preview event leads up to the Relay for Life event slated for  June 5. Relay for Life raises both awareness and funds for the American Cancer Society.
