Queen City Road Race featuring new 7K Race registration going on now

Clarksville, TN – It’s that time of year again to lace up those running shoes and begin preparing for the 35th Annual Queen City Road Race scheduled for Saturday, May 4th.
The Queen City Road Race event is a Clarksville tradition promoting fitness and fun for all ages. The 7K and 5K race route takes runners through the streets of Historic Downtown Clarksville, beginning and ending at Austin Peay State University’s Governors Stadium, while the One Mile Movement takes you on an exciting tour of a portion of the APSU campus.
For over thirty years, hundreds of Clarksville-Montgomery County and Fort Campbell school students, teachers and family members have participated in this Clarksville tradition.
APSU to celebrate Women in Athletics April 5th-6th with focus on Title IX

Clarksville, TN – It’s time to laud all current and former female athletes at Austin Peay State University.
The second Women in Athletics celebration, scheduled for April 5th-6th, will spotlight the 40th anniversary of Title IX, monumental federal legislation first enacted in 1972 that requires gender equity in sports and other key educational programs receiving federal funding.
The law states, “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.” [Read more]

Clarksville National Little League Early Registration

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville National Little League will be doing early registrations on February 18th and 19th at Page’s Sporting Goods. Registration will be from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.
Page’s Sporting Goods is located at 1015 South Riverside Drive.

Austin Peay State University to participate in Nashville Area Career Fairs

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University students and alumni have an opportunity to learn about careers, internships and educational opportunities at the Nashville Area Career Fairs.
The Nashville Area Career Fairs consist of the College to Career Fair and Teacher Recruitment Fair. Both events are scheduled from 10:00am-3:00pm, Tuesday, February 12th at the Williamson County Agriculture Exposition Park in Franklin, TN. [Read more]
Registration set to begin for Clarksville Parks and Recreation Youth Recreation Leagues

Clarksville, TN – Registration is set to kick off February 4th for the Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Youth Recreation Leagues.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation to begin Softball and Kickball Spring Registration in the New Year

Clarksville, TN – A team coaches meeting will be held January 26th, 2013 at 3:00pm at the Burt Cobb Community Center, located at 1011 Franklin Street. This meeting will provide an opportunity for participants to voice any questions or concerns they may have regarding this league.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation will be kicking off for the spring and summer Recreation Leagues beginning January 28th, 2013.
