18th Annual Governors Bass Tournament set for May 12th

Clarksville, TN – The 18th Annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament is just around the corner.
This year’s edition will be held Saturday, May 12th, at Kentucky Lake, with registration and boat launching from Paris Landing State Park near Paris, TN. Last season’s tourney was postponed one week from May 22nd, due to high waters and flooding that enveloped the area. Despite the delay, the tourney still drew 243 boats.
Fort Campbell Riding Stables “Turn & Burn” Speed Show Trophy Series

Fort Campbell, KY – The Fort Campbell Riding Stables will be holding a “Turn & Burn” Speed Show Trophy Series beginning on March 23rd. There will be eleven show date opportunities between March 23rd and October 26th. Registration will begin at 5:00pm and the show will start at 6:00pm.
If you would like to participate, there is a $25.00 blanket fee or $5.00 per class, $5.00 office fee, and $5.00 high point nomination fee. It’s free to the public to come and watch. [Read more]

Clarksville Parks and Recreation Youth Recreation Leagues Registration is underway

Clarksville, TN – Registration is underway for the Clarksville Parks & Recreation’s Youth Recreation Leagues. Participants can register no later than March 30th at any of our community centers, the Parks & Recreation Main office as well as online at recpro.cityofclarksville.com.
The baseball, softball and t-ball league is open to youth ages 5 to 14. Birth certificates are required at registration to verify the child’s age. All games are played at Heritage Park Baseball Fields. [Read more]

Red River Sirens to Host Motorcycle Poker Run

Clarksville, TN – Attention motorcyclists! Red River Sirens present “Lend a Hand — Win a Hand”! Clarksville Roller Derby’s Red River Sirens will host a fundraiser poker run on Saturday, November 12th, 2011. All bikes are welcome. The event begins and ends at The Bent Wrench Roadhouse, 4724 Ashland City Road, Clarksville. Rider registration starts at 10:00am. The kickstands will go up and the bikes will begin to ride out at 11:00am.
The entry fee of $20.00 per motorcycle includes one poker hand and a free post-ride party with music, prizes, food and beer. Back seat passengers are welcome to participate for a $5.00 fee. Riders can receive additional poker hands for $5.00. [Read more]

APSU’s 2011 Homecoming features two sports events open to public

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University National Alumni Association will sponsor both a golf tournament and 5K scholarship run during Homecoming 2011, and those will be open to the public.
The 33rd Annual Homecoming Golf Tournament will be at 8:00am, Friday, October 28th at Swan Lake Golf Course. Cost is $60.00 per person, and advance registration is required. Fee includes ditty bag, refreshments on the golf course and light lunch. The event, sponsored by Budweiser of Clarksville, is chaired by alumnus Frazier Allen (’99). [Read more]
