Defibrillators counter the risks of sudden cardiac emergencies
Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville has enhanced its medical emergency response capabilities in and around City Hall, Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan announced Monday.
The City is adding and relocating automated external defibrillators, or AEDs, in key locations in its downtown facilities to help counter the risks associated with sudden cardiac arrest, one of the leading causes of death in the United States.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces Two New BCycle Stations coming this Spring

Clarksville, TN – Thanks to a group of Clarksville Academy students, a grant from the Clarksville-Montgomery County Community Health Foundation and a partnership with the City of Clarksville, two more bike-share stations are coming to Clarksville.
Registration for Clarksville Parks and Recreation spring adult softball leagues begins this month

Clarksville, TN – Despite the wintery chill, Clarksville Parks and Recreation is gearing up for spring adult softball, with leagues open to men and women ages 18 and older.
An organizational meeting will start at 3:00pm on Saturday, January 21st at Burt-Cobb Recreation Center, and registration begins Monday, January 23rd. League participants — including coaches, sanctioning representatives, and umpires — are invited to attend.

Clarksville kicks off the Christmas Season with annual Lighted Parade

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, December 3rd, 2016, the 57th Annual Clarksville Lighted Christmas Parade was held in Downtown Clarksville. The theme this year was “Christmas Trees & Memories”.
Caroling on the courthouse steps began before the parade at 4:00pm. The Montgomery Central Elementary School Choir; Clarksville Academy Choirs; Northeast High School Exit One, JV Exit One & Concert Choirs; and West Creek High School Choir sang Christmas carols and performed to the delight of the crowd before the start of the parade.

Clarksville, TN – Two Clarksvillians will be honored this Monday, December 5th, by the Clarksville-Montgomery County Arts and Heritage Development Council for their achievement in art and in preserving our heritage.
Dr. James Diehr, professor emeritus of art at Austin Peay State University, will receive the Lifetime Achievement in Art award and Inga Filippo, APSU professor emerita of library science, will receive the Lifetime Achievement in Heritage award.
