Clarksville Greenway popularity creating Parking Problems

Clarksville, TN – With warm weather increasing use of the Clarksville Greenway, the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is asking visitors to respect parking guidelines while enjoying the outdoors.
Parking at Pollard Road Trailhead is limited and parking on the roadway is not permitted. Vehicles parked on the roadway obstruct traffic and could delay emergency or medical personnel response time and prevent nearby property owners from moving farm equipment.
New section of Clarksville Greenway opens

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department has opened a new one-third mile section of the Clarksville Greenway.
The new section begins approximately 2.5 miles from the Pollard Road Trailhead and continues to the rail bridge abutment beside the Red River.
City of Clarksville to open BCycle station at APSU

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville and Austin Peay State University are partnering to open a Clarksville BCycle station on campus and offer currently enrolled APSU students free annual bike-share memberships.
Thanks to an award-winning “Great Green Idea” by former SGA President Frank Burns, the support of the Student Government Association and the Sustainable Campus Fee Committee, a new station with 10 BCycles has been installed at the Foy Recreation Center.

Residents invited to enjoy Clarksville’s Beautiful Trails
Clarksville, TN – The Rails-to-Trails Conservancy’s sixth annual Opening Day for Trails will unfold in Clarksville on the Cumberland Riverwalk at McGregor Park, Downtown’s Upland Trail, and the beautiful 5.5-mile Clarksville Greenway.
Opening Day, a celebration of trails nationwide, will be Saturday, April 7th and serve as the unofficial launch of the spring trail season for outdoor enthusiasts and trail lovers.
City of Clarksville opens two new B-Cycle stations

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan cut a ribbon Monday to open one of Clarksville’s two new bike share stations.
The ceremony, at the Pollard Road trailhead on the Clarksville Greenway, included Clarksville Academy students, Community Health Foundation board members and Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department leaders.
A second new station, at Public Square and Franklin Street in Downtown Clarksville, also opened Monday.

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department received a Four Star Award from the Tennessee Recreation and Parks Association (TRPA) at this year’s state convention held in Kingsport, Tennessee.
The award was given in recognition of the Heritage Park Greenway Connection.

Clarksville, TN – Clarksvillians are encouraged to join in the beautification of one of the City’s favorite walking trails. The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a cleanup at The Clarksville Greenway, located at the Pollard Road Trailhead, on Saturday, October 3rd from 8:00am to 10:00am.
Our trails need constant maintenance, but to make it more fun, we schedule volunteer maintenance days throughout the year to keep them in shape.
