Clarksville, TN – The Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery will feature artwork by local photographer Beverly Parker from Thursday, December 4th – Wednesday, December 31st.
Parker’s exhibit, “An Alternative Prospective,” will showcase three different styles of photography: manipulated Polariods, Van Dyke Brown, and images and landscapes from the Land Between the Rivers.

Famed musicologist Celenza to visit APSU November 12th-17th as Acuff Chair of Excellence

Clarksville, TN – In 1772, the Austrian composer Joseph Haydn decided to play a little trick on his benefactor, Prince Nikolaus Esterházy. Haydn and the court orchestra had spent months with the overbearing prince at his summer palace, and they were beginning to feel homesick for their families.
That summer, Haydn composed his Symphony No. 45 in F-Sharp minor, known as the “Farewell Symphony,” for the prince.
Clarksville’s Customs House Museum to celebrate Season of Equine starting November 11th

Richly colored jazz paintings, bold and dynamic abstracts, cool and serene landscapes, peaceful and sometimes stormy seascapes, sunrise-sunsets, florals, and strange and odd combinations in vivid colors that just pop — these are some of the wide-ranging categories and subject matter presented by Martin in oils on canvas, acrylics on canvas, and watercolors on archival paper.

Clarksville, TN – Local Photographer Shane Moore will show a collection he’s titled “Touch of Grey” at the Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery on Thursday, October 2nd- Wednesday, November 5th.
Moore is a photographer committed to traditional black & white film photography. While he does incorporate digital images into some of his fine art prints, his passion and goals remain creating interesting, thought-provoking or beautiful images on film, then producing one-of-a-kind archival prints in his darkroom.
Clarksville Riverfest’s 2014 Tour d’Art Winners Awarded

Clarksville, TN – After hundreds of artists had their works of art on display at two locations in downtown Clarksville, then judged by artist Mary Addison Hackett, winners were awarded at Clarksville Riverfest’s Tour d’Art Receptions held Thursday, September 4th and Friday, September 5th, 2014.
Over $2,500 in prizes were awarded.
The competition included five categories: Photography & Digital Images, Sculpture, Painting, Mixed Media/Collage, and Drawing. Monetary awards are given to first through third place in each category (for each division) and a Best of Show Award.
Clarksville’s 9th Annual ‘Frolic on Franklin’ Set for September 13th

Clarksville, TN – Downtown Clarksville’s 9th Annual “Frolic on Franklin: A Celebration of the Arts” will take place Saturday, September 13th from 8:30am-3:30pm.
The free event will showcase the works of more than 30 artists, staged entertainment, art demonstrations, and a doggie fashion show – all along the 100 block of historic Franklin Street.
A variety of original fine art, as well as handmade crafts, will be on display including paintings and photography, jewelry, clay garden items, wood work, purses and fabric accessories, pottery, candles, jewelry, woven and knitted items, and seasonal gifts. Items will be for sale with prices ranging from $2.00 – $500.00.
