Meredith Willson’s “The Music Man” to Close the Roxy Regional Theatre’s 32nd Season with a Nostalgic Bang, July 17th – August 22nd

Roxy Regional TheatreClarksville, TN – Seventy-six trombones will close the Roxy Regional Theatre’s 32nd season with a nostalgic bang when Meredith Willson’s great American musical classic “The Music Man”marches onto the mainstage, July 17th – August 22nd.

Reprising his role from the 2011 national tour of “The Music Man”, John Adkison stars as fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill, who cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize … despite the fact he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef! However, his plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for town librarian Marian Paroo, played by Mary Malaney.

Planters Bank Gallery Showcases Privett’s World Landmarks in July

Planters BankClarksville, TN – The Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery will feature “Famous Landmarks of the World” by Clarksville Artist Bob Privett from Thursday, July 2nd – Wednesday, August 5th.

Privett’s acrylic paintings depict some of the famous landmarks around the globe. “These pieces were inspired by the old antique travel postcards of times past,” he explains.

His landmark works include structures such as cathedrals, museums, skyscrapers, hotels, homes, libraries, bridges and ruins.

Will Sanders Joins Planters Bank Commercial Team

A native Clarksvillian, Sanders spent the last few years as executive director and country manager for Hancock Prospecting Mongolia, LLC. Prior to that, he worked as financial advisor at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and financial services officer at Farm Credit Services of Mid America.

Planters BankHopkinsville, KY – The Planters Bank Board of Directors announced several title changes and promotions following its regular May meeting last week.

Judy Joiner, who joined Planters Bank in 1996, was named Senior Vice President/Chief Operations Officer. Greg Jackson, who joined Planters in 1996, was named Senior Vice President/Chief Retail Officer.

Scott Hancock, who joined Planters in 2002, was named Senior Vice President/Chief Trust Officer. Suzanne Langford, who joined Planters in 2003, was named Middle Tennessee Market Executive.

Jordan’s ‘Symbolic Summer’ Featured at Planters Bank Art Gallery in June

A 20-year arts veteran, Jordan is the exhibits curator of the Clarksville’s own Customs House Museum, as well as a fine artist working in oils and acrylics. She has been involved with nonprofit arts organizations and has taught classes for Centerstone.

Last Chance to See Current Exhibits at the Customs House Museum

Online and automated payment by phone service will be temporarily unavailable

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water is pleased to announce the transition to a new online customer payment processing service. The new service will include the same secure online payment services as before, but will feature a new convenient One Time Payment option for monthly utility bill payment.

Customers will be able to select the new One Time Payment button on the Gas and Water home page, www.clarksvillegw.com , then choose Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit card payment or E-Check payment without establishing an “Access My Account” login and password.

Planters Bank to show Pen and Ink Drawings “Simple Tennessee Pleasures” by Janet Felts

March 30, 2015

Planters BankClarksville, TN – The Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery will feature “Pen & Ink Drawings” showing simple pleasures in Tennessee by native Clarksvillian Janet Jones Felts from Thursday, April 2nd – Wednesday, May 6th.

Felts’ realistic reflections on life are revealed in the exhibit’s 12 black and white drawings. The display features three large drawings that reflect a youth’s investigations on the farm. Her drawings invite you to rediscover wooden scenes and country roads, along with other forgotten adventures.
