APSU Military History Alum earns prestigious fellowship with U.S. Customs and Border Protection

Clarksville, TN – Last year, Maj. Paul Witkowski of the United States Army was stationed on the Afghanistan/Pakistan border, trying to keep enemy combatants and supplies from passing through the region. It was a tricky assignment, given the province’s mountainous terrain and the absence of a fence or other obstruction between the two countries.
Later this summer, he’ll take what he learned in that war zone to Washington, D.C., where he’ll spend a year with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency as part of an Interagency Exchange Program fellowship. [Read more]

Fort Campbell, KY – Shortly after arriving home from Afghanistan yesterday morning the 101st Airborne Division Commander, Major General John F. Campbell and Command Sgt. Maj. Scott C. Schroeder took a few minutes to talk with the press.

President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden visit Fort Campbell KY

Fort Campbell, KY – On Friday May 6th, President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden flew into the Campbell Army Airfield on Air Force 1 and Air Force 2 to meet with and thank the soldiers of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment “Night Stalkers”, and members of Seal Team 6 who were sent into Pakistan to take out Osama Bin Laden, five days ago.
After meeting with the 160th, Obama and Biden made their way over to Hanger 3 to say thanks to 2300 Fort campbell soldiers, who had just returned from Afghanistan, for their service to United States.
