Hilltop Market’s 3rd Annual BBQ Cook Off started Friday night

Hilltop SupermarketClarksville, TN – The smell of BBQ was in the air as hundreds of people gathered at Hilltop Market Friday night for the start of their 3rd Annual BBQ Cook Off. The Back Lot Pickers featuring Donald and Lucian Greene were on hand providing the music. Food was available by Manna Café as well as samples of BBQ.

The BBQ cook off began this morning so make sure to come out and taste some of the best BBQ around.

Nick Stewart asks the Clarksville Community to send letters to Combat Wounded Soldiers

Clarksville City Council - Ward 1Clarksville TN – The ‘Wounded Warrior Welcome Project’ was formed in 2011 to welcome home injured soldiers who were returning to Middle Tennessee. The Project has organized welcome homes for more than a half dozen soldiers returning from their stays at Army Medical Hospitals in Washington D.C. and Texas.

In addition, we made 4 trips to Walter Reed Medical Hospital in 2011 and will be making another visit this month. [Read more]

This meeting will be held at the offices of Keller Williams Realty located at 2271 Wilma Rudolph Boulevard in Clarksville. It will began at 12:30pm and will last for approximately 20 minutes.

Councilman Steward will discuss his plans to run for State House District 74 during the 2012 election cycle. Please join Nick for this special occasion.

Clarksville City Councilman appointed by Governor Haslam

The Seal of the State of TennesseeNashville, TN – A Clarksville city councilman has been appointed to a state board by Governor Bill Haslam. It was announced today that Ward 1 councilman Nick Steward has been appointed to The Tennessee Pest Control and Licensing and Advisory Board.

This board meets to consider special licenses for individuals who meet minimum qualifications for certain categories of pesticide application. Steward is expected to take the oath of office November 1st in a ceremony at the Clarksville Board of Realtors. Steward is a first term city councilman, replacing Barbara Johnson in North Clarksville. [Read more]

Kim McMillan sworn in as Clarksville Tennessee’s first female Mayor

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Before a standing room only crowd at the Roxy Regional Theatre yesterday afternoon, Mayor-elect Kim McMillan and six city council members were sworn in to serve the interests of the citizens of the City of Clarksville for the next two years. Lance Baker, the Clarksville City Attorney acted in the role of emcee for the ceremony. Judge Ross Hicks introduced Judge Robert W. Wedemeyer who then swore in the new Mayor.

Kim McMillan is the first woman elected to serve as the Mayor of the City of Clarksville.
