Select City Pools to remain open through Labor Day Weekend

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation is extending the season of two of the five City pools this summer. Beachaven Pool and New Providence Pool will remain open Friday evenings, as well as Saturdays and Sundays through September 4th.

Billy Dunlop Park will be closed to the public July 10th-15th for Girl Scouts Day Camp and July 16th-22nd for Boy Scouts Day Camp.

Aquatic Specialty Class Schedule to change temporarily at New Providence Pool

Clarksville, TN – The Aqua Zumba class held at New Providence Pool, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, will have a time change Friday, June 24th. The class will be at 5:00pm rather than its regularly scheduled time of 6:00pm.
The Basic Water Aerobics class normally scheduled for 6:00pm on Friday will be cancelled for the day. Both classes will return to regular times next week.

Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence is closing for the season

Clarksville, TN – The Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, closed Tuesday, May 10th for the season. The New Providence outdoor swimming pool will open May 28th along with the other City pools. The Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence will re-open at the end of the summer season.
Be on the look-out for the 2011-12 Indoor Aquatics Program guide at that time.

Indoor Aquatic Center Grand Opening

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department held the Grand Opening of the new Indoor Aquatic Center on January 29th, 2011 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan was there for the ribbon cutting. There were prizes given away, a Polar Bear Splash as well as tours to learn about the new programs available there. One lucky winner took home a FREE pool membership for the entire winter season.

Clarksville, TN – The New Providence Pool, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, has a new look and new name. After weeks of work and just hours of inflation, the pool is now sheltered with a bubble like dome which will allow for year-round use of the Indoor Aquatic Center.
The “Dive in the Dome” grand opening is still scheduled for tomorrow, January 29th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm but due to snow and frigid temperatures, the inflation of the dome was delayed from its schedule this week and visitors looking to take a swim will experience much cooler water temperatures than expected. Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks & Recreation is looking forward to the opening of the much anticipated Indoor Aquatic Center. Beginning this morning at 7:00am, New Providence Pool, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, will get a new look- it will be sheltered with a bubble like dome to allow for year-round use. Indoor Aquatic Center’s Dome was inflated yesterday

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville inflated the dome on the new Indoor Aquatic Center yesterday, one of the last major steps before the opening on Saturday.
The new Indoor Aquatic Center will officially open to the public this Saturday, January 29th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm with a dive in the dome celebration. The opening will feature give-a-ways, “dome”onstrations, contests, and a free gift to the first 50 people to purchase a pool pass! The center will also offer FREE swimming to the public all day long from 10:00am to 6:00pm on opening day.
