Downtown @ Sundown features Good Rockin’ Tonight for final 2020 Concert this Friday

Downtown @Sundown Concert Series at Downtown Commons.Montgomery County, TN – On Friday, October 16th, 2020,  Good Rockin’ Tonight will perform at the Downtown Commons for the final concert of 2020. The Downtown @ Sundown concert will take place on the lawn from 7:00pm-10:00pm.

Good Rockin’ Tonight is a 1950’s Rock and Rockabilly Tribute that features professional Nashville musicians who perform the most influential songs in Rock and Roll history.

APSU School of Nursing forms partnership with Fisk University

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Last year, when Fisk University decided to provide a nursing pathway for its students, the Nashville-based school reached out to one of the top programs in the region – the Austin Peay State University (APSU) School of Nursing. Officials at Fisk liked that APSU’s program consistently had a near 100% passing rate for the national licensure test, and Austin Peay State University officials were eager to take advantage of the diversity that Fisk – a historically Black university – offered.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces Surrender of Clarksville event to be held at Fort Defiance

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – On Saturday, February 22nd, 2020, the Fort Defiance Interpretive Center will be hosting a living history event from 10:00am to 3:00pm to commemorate the surrender of Fort Defiance to Union soldiers in 1862.

The surrender of Clarksville was a significant event in Civil War history, opening the South to Union forces and the capture of Nashville. Uniformed soldiers will provide living history and cannon firing demonstrations. Visitors are invited to tour the permanent exhibit and view the film, “Crossroads of Change.”
