APSU’s Michael Dickins creating own work, championing others

Clarksville, TN – For a moment, it sounded as if someone was trapped deep inside the metal barrel. This unnerving feeling grew more intense as gallery visitors walked toward the rusty drum.
It looked like a normal barrel, used to collect garbage or – for the more desperate – to build a fire on an icy winter night, but once visitors peered inside, they heard flat, unemotional voices offering up “thoughts and prayers.”
Austin Peay State University Department of Art and Design hosts 48th annual juried student exhibition

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s Department of Art and Design is proud to host its annual juried student exhibition in the Trahern Gallery from March 28th through April 15th, 2016.
As the tradition of showcasing the artistic talents of the Austin Peay students enters its 48th year, this exhibition rounds out what has been an exciting 2015-2016 gallery season.
APSU welcomes Nashville-based designer and illustrator Rachel Briggs

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Department of Art and Design, with support from the APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts, is pleased to welcome nationally-recognized designer and illustrator Rachel Briggs to campus for a visiting artist lecture.
The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be at 7:00pm, on February 24th, in room 401 of the Trahern Building.
