Billy Dunlop Park will be closed to the public Sunday, June 3rd thru Friday, June 8th for the Boy Scouts.

Clarksville’s Summer Youth Program to begin June 4th

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Summer Youth Program will begin June 4th with the opening of program sites and will end July 13th.

Summer Youth Program runs June 4th through July 13th
Clarksville, TN – The Summer Youth Program is a six-week day camp-type program that is offered each summer to youths, ages 6-16. Gyms at various locations are staffed with directors and assistants, who will help with playtime activities and provide free, instructional classes such as gymnastics and karate. [Read more]
Clarksville Montgomery County School System HR Reorganization Introduces Educator Quality

Montgomery County, TN – When Bruce Jobe retired last month as the Chief Human Resources Officer, Schools Director Mike Harris named former HR Director Jeanine Chester as the new Chief and promoted former Assistant HR Director Cydney Miller to take over Mrs. Chester’s position. That left the group with the opportunity to reconfigure the open position into a staff member who would be dedicated to the hiring of quality teachers and school administrators.
Phyllis Casebolt, who has served as principal at Clarksville High for the past three years, will begin her duties this month as Director of Educator Quality.
Hazelwood Principal to Head Up Newest Elementary School

Montgomery County, TN – A veteran of public education for 33 years, Hazelwood Elementary Principal Rosanne Sanford has been named principal at Carmel Elementary School, scheduled to open in August 2012.
She will begin her work as Carmel principal in January. The Hazelwood principal position will be posted on Friday.
CMCSS Kindergarten Roundups Announced

Montgomery County, TN – Kindergarten roundups in CMCSS give parents and guardians the opportunity to learn more about the kindergarten experience as their children begin their academic journey.
Children who attend also will receive a complimentary backpack filled with learning activities for the summer before starting school. The backpacks are provided by the CMC Education Foundation thanks to sponsors Valerie Hunter-Kelly of Keller-Williams Realtors and Clarksville Pediatric Dentistry.

Banking is Elementary with US Bank’s School Program

Clarksville, TN – US Bank’s commitment to local schools as a Partner in Education has resulted in helping elementary students operate their own school banks.
Currently there are five active school banks at the following schools: Cumberland Heights, East Montgomery, Hazelwood, St Bethlehem, and Minglewood. Past partnerships included Sango, Burt and Moore as well.
