Montgomery County recipients of Governor’s Volunteer Stars Award Winners Announced

Montgomery County, TN – Congratulations go to Alexis Mihalinec and Susan and Bobby Powers for being selected the Montgomery County recipients for the 2012 Governor’s Volunteer Stars Awards.
Mihalinec, the Montgomery County Youth winner, is a 14 year old with a very giving heart. She dedicates her time to help low income families of Montgomery County that need a hand up with school supplies to help start the school year off right!

Open Enrollment in Clarksville Montgomery County School System going on now through February 25th

Montgomery County, TN – Specific grade levels in 14 elementary schools and all grades at Kenwood Middle are available for open enrollment for the Clarksville Montgomery County School 2013-14 school year.

Volunteers needed for Foster Care Review Board

Montgomery County, TN – The Foster Care Review Board is seeking volunteers to serve on its boards. Board members make recommendations to the Juvenile Court Judge or Magistrate that is overseeing each child custody case.
Board members are asked to attend one board meeting per month. The boards usually meet on the 1st and 2nd Tuesdays and the 4th Monday of each month. [Read more]

Final Group of 2012 Working Towards Green Certification

Montgomery County, TN – A seventh group of participants completed the Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification Program (CMCGCP) workshops this month.
The group began the process in October 2012 with plans to complete their certifications by April 2013.

The B. R. Miller and Co., Inc. General Contractors received their Green Certification during a Green Ribbon Cutting Ceremony attended by the Montgomery County Mayor Carolyn Bowers at their offices on December 18th just a week before Christmas.
The ceremony celebrated their successful implementation of green initiatives and completion of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification Program.

Sunrise Rotary Club gives $1,000 donation to Montgomery County Imagination Library

Clarksville, TN – The Sunrise Rotary Club has given a $1,000 donation to the Imagination Library of Montgomery County in support of this important early literacy program.
Sunrise Rotary has been a staunch supporter of Imagination Library since its inception in Montgomery County in 2006 and has given well over $30,000 to IL through the years.
