Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Emergency Medical Services is preparing for EMS Week, scheduled for May 14th – 21st. Citizens will begin to see billboards and photos throughout the community inviting everyone to the week’s activities.

Heritage Bank Awards $26,000 in Scholarships to Area Students

Clarksville, TN – Heritage Bank has awarded 52 students at 30 area schools $500.00 scholarships. The scholarships were made possible by the 8 year old Heritage Bank Scholarship Fund. Since founding the fund, the bank has awarded college scholarships totaling $170,000 to 340 students selected from the various communities that Heritage Bank serves. This scholarship fund is one of the largest efforts made to enhance the educational endeavors for students of Western Kentucky and Tennessee.

2011 Clarksville Sports Festival to feature a variety of sports, athletic and outdoor activities this weekend

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation is kicking off its first-annual Clarksville Sports Festival to be held March 25th-26th, at the Foy Fitness Center located on the campus of Austin Peay State University, with a variety of sports, athletic and outdoor activities for the entire family.
The two-day celebration of sports and athletics in Clarksville and Montgomery County will feature several “zones” that will include not only clinics, demonstrations and interactive areas, but also seminars and even an exposition area where over 25 of Clarksville and Montgomery County’s athletic and outdoor clubs and organizations will come together in one location. Veterans Outreach slated for Civic Hall

Montgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Veterans Service Organization, in conjunction with the Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs, is hosting a daylong Veterans Outreach for veterans and their dependents from 10:00am to 3:00pm, April 15th, at William O. Beach Civic Hall in Veterans Plaza, 350 Pageant Lane, Clarksville.
Representatives from the MCVSO, TDVA, VA health care, local veterans groups and federal, state, county and community agencies will be available to provide information and enrollment opportunities for veterans and other eligible beneficiaries. [Read more]
Governor’s Volunteer Stars Award Nominations being accepted

Nominations for the Third Annual Governor’s Volunteer Stars Awards are now being accepted within Montgomery County. The awards will celebrate the efforts of volunteers who strive to improve their communities through service.
One youth and one adult will be selected in Montgomery County to receive this prestigious award. Nominees will be judged based on the community’s needs of the volunteer service performed, initiative taken to perform the service, creativity used to solve a community problem and impact of the volunteer service on the community.
