Events to honor Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy ‘Bubba’ Johnson a hugh success

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOMontgomery County, TN – Hundreds came out to support two events today in memory of fallen Deputy David “Bubba” Johnson.

A light mist had begun falling shortly after 8:00am when Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson spoke to the crowd of hundreds of runners waiting to begin the Inaugural Bubba Johnson Memorial 5K Road Race.

“I think Bubba is watching over us today,” Fuson said. “It’s the perfect weather for a run.”

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office obtains Green Certification

Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification ProgramMontgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, through nearly a year’s worth of extensive planning, changing habits and educating its employees, has obtained Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification.

“We started this project last October, and through the Environmental Task Force we created, we’ve met the requirements to gain certification,” said Sheriff John Fuson.

Fallen Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputy David ‘Bubba’ Johnson to be honored with events Saturday, July 19th

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOMontgomery County, TN – Two back-to-back events will be held Saturday in honor of fallen Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Deputy David “Bubba” Johnson.

First, the Inaugural Bubba Johnson Memorial 5K Road Race begins at 8:30am Saturday, July 19th beginning at The Montgomery County Historic Courthouse, Clarksville, TN. There is also a 1-mile “fun run-walk” that will begin and end at Clarksville First Baptist Church.

Uncle Joe’s Barber Shop raises funds in honor of fallen Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputy

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOMontgomery County, TN – A local barber that Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy David “Bubba” Johnson used to frequent and the shop he works with raised $350.00 in his honor during a charity haircut day recently.

Barbers with Uncle Joe’s Barber Shop presented Sheriff John Fuson with the check today, which will be added to funds that will be used for a trip to the National Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony in Washington, D.C. where Johnson’s name will be added to the memorial.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office employees visit Tennessee State Capitol

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson and employees of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), as well as volunteers with the The Silent Witness Project were on hand at the Tennessee State Capitol today to show passers-by silhouette plaques memorializing fallen victims of domestic violence.

Family members of victims, as well as organizers of the project, were recognized by Representative John Tidwell during the Civil Justice Committee meeting.

Barksdale Elementary School students learn about government from officials

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – Students at Barksdale Elementary School prepared for this week’s Social Studies test, but aside from hitting the books, they were taught by several officials in local government.

Captain Jesse Reynolds of the MCSO introduced Clarksville City Mayor Kim McMillan, Montgomery County Director of Administration Phil Harpel, Circuit Judge Ross Hicks, Assistant District Attorney Daniel Stephenson, Attorney Michael Pugh, K-9 Deputy Kelley Potter along with K-9 Mali and Deputy Tim Harp of the bomb squad.

Go Commando Runner Provides Awareness to Gun Violence

This year, on October 19th, one of Montgomery County’s own will run in the Go Commando Half Marathon & 5k powered by CDE Lightband in honor of his fellow officers and to raise awareness about a very real threat to police officers everywhere.
