Volunteer Fire Service Awards Banquet

Montgomery County, TN – The annual Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Service Awards Dinner was held Friday, December 9th at the Montgomery County Civic Hall. Congratulations to the award recipients: Stephanie Geewax, Rescue Squad; Jeff Davidson, Palmyra station; Wade Kunstmann, Cunningham station; Charles “Chip” Nichols-Redman, St. Bethlehem station; Derrick Wilson, East Montgomery station; and Joshus Banker, Woodlawn station, for all being selected as Firefighters of the Year for their respective stations.
Jeff Davidson was given the high honor of being selected as the Overall Firefighter of the Year for 2011. Jeff has been a volunteer firefighter since 1990 and currently serves with the Palmyra Volunteer Fire Service.

APSU receives Partner Service Award from CMCSS, Chamber of Commerce

Clarksville, TN – For its many efforts to the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System, Austin Peay State University was presented with the Partner Service Award on September 14th.
Local school officials and representatives with the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce presented the award during the annual Partners in Education Appreciation Breakfast at the Montgomery County Civic Hall.

Veterans Information Seminar slated for Civic Hall

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Career Center, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Veterans Service Organization, will host a Veterans Information Seminar from 9:00am to 11:00am October 21st at the Montgomery County Civic Hall, Veterans Plaza, 350 Pageant Lane.
Veterans can speak with representatives of several local organizations about employment rights and services, job placement, veterans’ preferences, homeless programs, VA disability compensation, dependent benefits, GI Bill and other VA education benefits, and VA health care, among other programs and services veterans are entitled to.
Additionally, Assistant Director Stacey Hopwood will give a briefing about the array of services offered at the Montgomery County Veterans Service Organization, and Michael Elliott will discuss services for veterans available through the Career Center.
H.O.P.E. to hold their annual Women’s Day Conference this Saturday

On Saturday from 10:00am till 4:00pm the Hispanic Organization for Progress & Education (H.O.P.E.) will be holding their 2010 Women’s Day Conference at the Montgomery County Civic Hall at Veterans Plaza (350 Pageant Lane).
The conference will provide a wide variety of information and activities for women including health screenings, Cooking and Home Decor tips, food samples, hand-made crafts, Satin Hands, Make-overs, a Clothes Closet, hourly prizes, and much more!
Valerie Guzman will be the Emcee for the day. Special guests include Mrs. Tennessee International Cydney Miller and Social Entreprenur April Boyed-Noronha will also be on hand.
