Montgomery County, TN – The JROTC Academic Team from Montgomery Central High School was selected to compete at the 2020 U.S. Army JROTC Academic Bowl Championship in Washington D.C. originally scheduled for June and unfortunately canceled.

2016 Clarksville-Montgomery County Veterans Day Parade

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County gathered together in front of the Montgomery County Historic Courthouse this past Saturday, November 5th to honor our veterans, as well as those who are still serving their country.
The day started off at 9:00am with a Veterans Day Ceremony. Veterans Service Organization director Frank Mir gave the opening remarks followed by the 101st Airborne Division Honor Guard Posting the Colors.

Vietnam Veterans of America held their annual Memorial Day Candlelight Vigil Sunday night, May 24th

Clarksville, TN – On Sunday, May 25th, the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 396 held their annual Candlelight Vigil to remember the men and women who were left behind in Vietnam when American forces withdrew in 1975.
It is a solemn occasion when a nation gathers together to honor its soldiers, those who lived to come home, but even more importantly those who did not.

Clarksville, TN – It is a solemn occasion when a nation gathers together to honor its soldiers, those who lived to come home, but even more importantly those who did not. The body of U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Lawrence Woods was buried in Arlington National Cemetery on March 21st of this year. There are 27 remaining missing POW/MIA’s from the State of Tennessee. Each one was honored in a ceremony held in front of the William O. Beach Civic Center at Veterans Plaza in Clarksville Tennessee on Sunday evening.

No remains were returned during the previous year, that leaves 30 remaining missing POW/MIA’s from the State of Tennessee. Each one was honored in a ceremony held in front of the William O. Beach Civic Center at Veterans Plaza in Clarksville Tennessee on Sunday evening.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Memorial Day Ceremony to be held May 27th, 2013

Montgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Veterans Service Organization is hosting its annual Memorial Day Ceremony at 10:00am, May 27th, at Veterans Memorial Park, Clarksville, TN.
City and county officials, as well as MCVSO staff will give remarks, with the keynote address given by LTC (Retired) Norman “Greg” Lane, US Army Reserve, who currently serves as the Battalion Executive Officer of Austin Peay State University’s ROTC.

The colors were posted by the Elester Garner Chapter of the 555th Triple Nickel as members of the Gold Star Wives look on during last year’s Memorial Day Ceremony.

Retired Air Force Maj. Bill Summers, Ward 10 Clarksville city councilman, will be guest speaker.
