108th annual Lone Oak Picnic set for this Saturday, July 30th

The Civitan ClubCunningham, TN – This Saturday, July 30th, 2016, everyone is invited to come out for the 108th annual Lone Oak Picnic put on by the Central Civitan Club. The event will start at 10:00am and go until 2:00pm.

The Lone Oak Picnic will be held rain or shine. The rain Saturday is expected to start sometime in the afternoon after 1:00pm so we should have a dry event.

Come out and enjoy entertainment, meet public officials, and purchase excellent chicken and pork barbecue. The picnic grounds are located between Hwy 13 and Alonzo Place in Cunningham, TN.

2nd annual Be More Like Wade Scholarship 5k run takes place Saturday, July 30th

Wade Morgan - Be More Like WadeCunningham, TN – On Saturday, July 30th, 2016 the 2nd annual “Be More Like Wade Scholarship” 5K Run/Walk will take place at the Montgomery Central Schools in honor of Wade Morgan. Registration starts at 7:45am and the race is slated for 8:30am.

Tickets can be purchased online through noon Wednesday, July 27th at ticketleap. Registration will also take place the day of the race.

All proceeds will go into a scholarship fund which will be given to a Montgomery Central Senior who demonstrates similar characteristics of #bemorelikewade. He exemplified the true meaning of a genuine person by being a selfless individual and always having an optimistic outlook on life.

Harper Greene Benefit Supper and Singing to be held Saturday, April 2nd

BenefitCunningham, TN – On Saturday, April 2nd, 2016, a Benefit Supper and Singing will be held for Harper Greene at Montgomery Central Elementary School from 5:00pm until 8:00pm.

Harper Greene was diagnosed in December, 2015 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) at the age of 2. He is the son of Nick and Chasidy Greene.

The Reindeer WhispererCunningham, TN – The Montgomery Central Elementary School’s 5th Grade and Central Sound held their annual Christmas Program on Thursday, December 17th, 2015. This year they performed the musical “The Reindeer Whisperer”.

It begins the day before Christmas Eve. Santa Claus is ready for his annual test drive before the big day with his reindeer. However, he finds the reindeer can’t fly, or maybe they won’t fly. Santa and the elves know something is wrong, but they can’t figure it out.

Montgomery Central Elementary School Veteran’s Day Celebration

November 11, 2015

Veterans DayCunningham, TN – The Montgomery Central Elementary School gave salute our Military in honor of Veteran’s Day on Wednesday, November 10th, with their annual “Veteran’s Day Celebration” program. Students kindergarden through 5th grade participated in the event with group performances as well as grade level performances.

The program began at 9:00am in the MCES gymnasium. Several area veterans and current members of the Armed Services were on hand to be honored. There was a large turn out for the event with people standing along the walls to hear children paying their respects to our veterans.
