Clarksville Ice Hockey Team being formed

Clarksville, TN – Ice hockey players are being sought for a Clarksville/Montgomery County/Fort Campbell High School Hockey team. This team will be a part of the Greater Nashville Scholastic Hockey league (GNASH) and play other high schools in the Nashville area.

“Delights of Winter” exhibit at Clarksville’s Downtown Artists Co-op

An Exhibit by Heike Sichterman and Claus “Dutch” Mann
Clarksville, TN – The Downtown Artists Co-op is proud to present “Delights of Winter”, an exhibit of fine art featuring Claus “Dutch” Mann and Heike Sichterman. The exhibit features hand-made jewelry and photography by Heike and intricate, wood carvings by Dutch. The Exhibit begins January 2nd, 2014 and runs through February 1st.
For this exhibit, Heike was inspired by “the European palaces built in the Baroque style. The opulence and splendor in gold and vivid colors one would see in the interior, (this) is what I tried to recreate in my jewelry reminiscent of what the ladies would wear for a lavish Winter Ball.“

The first Thanksgiving feasts, we are told, were shared between the colonists and the Native Americans who had helped them survive. Indeed, those early celebrations recognized, at least in part, that without the natives, the settlers may not have survived.
Clarksville Transit System offers Free Fare Day on Black Friday

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Transit System will be offering free fares for riders all day on November 29th, 2013.
As part of the Regional Transportation Authority, CTS will be joining with other transit providers throughout Middle Tennessee who will be offering free rides.
Included in the program are the commuter buses from Clarksville to Nashville which will run as usual that day.
Gwendolyn Rodriguez Shows Art Planters Bank November 7th

Clarksville, TN – Gwendolyn Rodriguez loves to paint pictures that tell a story of a person or a time and place. Her paintings, showing a sample of her diverse interests and places around the world, will be on display at the Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery Thursday, November 7th – Wednesday, December 4th.
Although born in San Antonio, Texas, Rodriguez spent most of her childhood in Middle Tennessee. At 18, she experienced life as an exchange student in Germany, where she developed a passion for travel and languages.
APSU choral program continues busy season with October 22nd Concert

Clarksville, TN – This fall is shaping up to be a busy semester for Austin Peay State University Choral Activities. In early September, the University’s three choral groups – Vocal Ease, University Choir and Chamber Singers – performed for the Tennessee Board of Regents dinner at APSU.
A few weeks later, the Chamber Singers traveled to Nashville for a performance at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center as part of the Nashville Symphony’s Free Day of Music event.
