Noted Artist Anton Weiss Exhibiting at the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center

Clarksville, TN – The Crouch Gallery of the Customs House Museum celebrates the career of Anton Weiss. The works on display in the exhibition Anton Weiss: Reaching for Infinity represent the creativity of the artist from the 1970s to 2016, in both 2D and 3D pieces.
Visitors are greeted upon entry to the show with Pangea Column. A tall work of art comprised of copper, aluminum, and bronze, it acts almost as an exhibition guard, full of Weiss’ signature earthy hues.
APSU professor Tamara Smithers publishes academic book on Italian Renaissance painter Michelangelo

Clarksville, TN – Everyone has a reason for why they do what they do, and for Dr. Tamara Smithers, associate professor of art history at Austin Peay State University, the reason she has devoted her passion to the study of art history is the work of Italian Renaissance sculptor and painter Michelangelo.
“To speak candidly, I’ve been obsessed with Michelangelo – his artwork, his life and his legend – ever since I can remember,” Smithers said.
