Red River Sirens to hold Car Wash April 20th

Clarksville, TN – Have a dirty car, motorcycle, bicycle, moped, or truck?? Clarksville Roller Derby’s Red River Sirens are hosting a car wash April 20th, 2013, at Walgreens on the corner of Old Trenton Road and Wilma Rudolph Boulevard from 10:00am until 4:00pm.

Austin Peay State University Dance Program expands Reputation

Clarksville, TN – In 2005, Austin Peay State University developed a dance minor program with one faculty member and a handful of students. Seven years later, the program has three full-time faculty members and several graduates enrolled in Master of Fine Arts programs around the country.
The name “Austin Peay” is also becoming more familiar in collegiate dance circles, with the school having choreographed pieces selected two years in a row to be performed at the American College Dance Festival gala performance.

Collins Tuohy, portrayed in ‘The Blind Side,’ to speak at Austin Peay State University February 11th

Clarksville, TN – Collins Tuohy, chronicled with her family in the 2010 blockbuster film “The Blind Side,” will wrap a whirlwind Super Bowl celebration week with an inspiring presentation Monday, February 11th at Austin Peay State University.
Tuohy, a Memphis, TN, native and adopted sister to Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman Michael Oher, will speak beginning at 7:00pm in Clement Auditorium. Tuohy’s remarks have been titled “Behind ‘The Blind Side’: Overcoming Obstacles in the Face of Adversity.”
Northeast Middle School Students Place First in STEM Competition

Clarksville, TN – The Northeast Middle School Robotics Class needs our help. In December last year, these highly talented and motivated students placed first in the robot programming category in Memphis, TN, which is quite a feat for this young program.
Led by educators Polly Kopp and Whitney Joyner, the success of these students offers them a chance to compete in the LEGO Open Invitational Tournament in California this May.

Well here’s your chance to put all of that “talent” to use! Clarksville Roller Derby’s Red River Sirens are hosting their 2nd annual Scaryokie Karaoke fundraiser on Saturday, November 17th at Scooters Pub and Grill, 2458 Highway 41A Bypass, Clarksville. Doors open at 7:00pm, Karaoke begins at 8:00pm, and a $5.00 minimum donation is requested.

United States Colored Troops Living History Association Hosts Annual Conference in Clarksville October 19th-21st

The United States Colored Troops Living History Association is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote and accurately interpret the history of the United States Colored Troops of the American Civil War and those that supported their efforts to abolish slavery and preserve the Union and to educate the public and promote research of the history and legacy of those who served in the Civil War. APSU’s Dunn Center floor receiving extreme makeover

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University’s Dunn Center floor is getting more than a facelift.
After seeing part of the floor twice replaced in the past decade, a whole new surface will be in place when the 2012 Austin Peay State University volleyball season opens this fall–call it Extreme Makeover APSU style.
After 13 graduations, including 11 from the local high schools, were concluded in late May, the floor project began with the removal of the entire existing floor in Dave Aaron Arena, to be replaced by a state-of-the-art PermaFlex flooring system. [Read more]
