Riverfest to hold 4th Annual Lighted Boat Parade

Clarksville, TN – Sit back and watch as the Cumberland River is illuminated in a majestic display of floating lights during the 4th Annual Riverfest Lighted Boat Parade Saturday night, September 10th. The boats leave the Marina Basin at 7:00pm and procede down the parade route past McGregor Park and the Riverfest Celebration.
Don’t want to just be a bystander in the show? Enter your boat in the festivities and you may even come home with an award!

Collin Raye to headline Riverfest 2011

Clarksville, TN – Join the City of Clarksville and Bud Light along the banks of the Cumberland River as they celebrate Clarksville’s river heritage at the 24th annual Riverfest Celebration, September 9th and 10th, 2011. This free, two day music and arts festival features four stages of a variety of local, regional and nationally-known entertainers, delicious food, and fun for the entire family.
The music kicks off at 5:00pm, Friday, with a great lineup of Christian performers on the Mary’s the Music Store Stage to include Britt Nicole who will perform at 9:00pm. Ekoh, Black Market Research and UZoo – The Authentic U2 Tribute Band Experience will take to the Bud Light Stage on Friday night, followed by the ultimate Journey tribute band, Chain Reaction.
APSU Students produce Monograph on City’s Public Art Pieces

Clarksville, TN – Throughout the city of Clarksville, a number of statues and other pieces commemorate the history of the local community, honor heroes and celebrate the spirit of the town.
There’s the statue of John Montgomery, for whom Montgomery County is named, located in front of City Hall, facing Strawberry Alley downtown. The legend of Wilma Rudolph, Clarksville’s most famous woman athlete who was the first female to win three gold medals in the Olympics in 1960 in Rome, Italy, is preserved in her classic crossing-the-finish-line pose at McGregor Park at the intersection of College Street and Riverside Drive. Come down to McGregor Park Tonight and Celebrate Independence Day

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville and Aetna Insurance are joining together to celebrating our nation’s independence with the fourth annual Independence Day Celebration tonight down at McGregor Park. The event will be filled with food, fun and entertainment for the entire family. It all starts 6:00pm.
Local performers Tina Brown and Chris Robertson will provide live music throughout the evening, followed by country music artist, John Anderson. With more than 40 singles on the Billboard country music charts, Anderson has five Number Ones: “Wild and Blue,” “Swingin’,” “Black Sheep,” and “Money in the Bank.” The night will end with a spectacular fireworks finale, the largest in Clarksville.

Independence Day Celebration

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville wants to inform citizens that as of noon on Saturday, July 2nd, the boat ramp, courtesy dock and lower parking lot at McGregor Park will be closed to the public. The upper parking lot will close Sunday, July 3rd at 7:30am. Any vehicles left in these two lots after these times will be towed.
Most Patriotic Judges Change Trip to Independence Day Weekend

Clarksville, TN – The Captain and Clark Road Rally Team changed their itinerary so they can now visit Clarksville July 3rd-4th as part of their judging the Most Patriotic category for the Rand McNally-USA Today Best of the Road contest.
Team member Tawny Clark called while a group gathered to plan Clarksville events for their previously scheduled visit of June 30th and July 1st. Clark said it appeared more events were planned for the Independence Day weekend here than in Fort Leonard Wood, MO, where the team initially planned to be Sunday and Monday. Thus, Tawny Clark and “Captain” Chris Staudinger will travel from Peachtree City, GA, to Fort Leonard Wood on Wednesday then depart for Clarksville on Saturday. [Read more]
