Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department and YMCA of Clarksville to continue new Yoga in the Park series

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department and the Clarksville YMCA have seen such success with the new Yoga in the Park series, classes will continue through August 3rd (excluding Wednesday, July 4th)!
Yoga in the Park is a free, morning yoga class instructed by trained YMCA instructors each Wednesday and Friday beginning May 16th. Classes take place from 6:00am to 7:00am on the stage behind the As the River Flows museum at McGregor Park, located at 640 North Riverside Drive. [Read more]

TVA’s Tennessee Valley Electric Lineman Rodeo was alot of Fun

Clarksville, TN – The Tennessee Valley Authority, along with the City of Clarksville, the Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation (CEMC) and CDE Lightband played host to the Tennessee Valley Electric Lineman Rodeo at McGregor Park in Clarksville, Tennessee from June 7th-9th.
This multi-day event allowed electrical workers from throughout the region compete against one another to see who’s the best of the best 45 feet in the air. When the lights go out, for an electric line worker, duty calls. He puts his life on the line to ensure we are able to enjoy all the conveniences that electricity provides to us.

City of Clarksville’s Independence Day Celebration to take place July 3rd

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville and Aetna Insurance are celebrating our nation’s independence this year with the fifth annual Independence Day Celebration on Tuesday, July 3rd, at McGregor Park.

Clarksville Downtown Market moving to McGregor Park’s RiverWalk North Extension

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Downtown Market is moving! Since it’s opening in 2008, the market has grown in popularity; so much so that it has outgrown its current location at One Public Square.
In order to allow for continual growth, the market will move to the North Extension of McGregor Park’s RiverWalk beginning Saturday, July 7th, 2012.

Riverfest announces Kip Moore as 2012 headliner

Clarksville, TN – Riverfest is excited to announce that the singer-songwriter Kip Moore will be the featured headliner at the 2012 Festival. Kip Moore will take the stage at 9:00pm as the main event on Saturday, September 8th, 2012. The concert is free and open to the public.
Kip Moore’s song “Somethin’ Bout a Truck” from his debut album, “Up All Night,” has claimed the No. 1 spot for the second consecutive week on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart, making him the first new country artist in four years to have a debut album’s first single go No. 1 for multiple weeks.
