This weeks highlights include: Volunteers Needed for Youth Mentoring Program, A Taste of Creativity, Clarksville Sports Festival, Volunteers Needed for Riverfest 2013, and “Rally on the Cumberland” Canoe and Kayak Race.

Cardboard, and Bottle Boat Races
Clarksville, TN – The Riverfest Regatta, sponsored by U.S. Bank, is not your typical boat race. The boats racing down the Cumberland River Saturday morning, September 7th, will be made of cardboard, a few other approved materials and this year, plastic bottles! Not only will teams be racing for bragging rights, but trophies will be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place teams in each division.
Don’t miss the spectacle! Everyone is invited to watch as groups attempt to paddle their cardboard or plastic bottle boats to the finish line on the Cumberland River at 10:00am Saturday, September 7th, at McGregor Park’s courtesy boat dock.

Clarksville, TN – The 26th annual Riverfest celebration will be held September 6th and 7th, but many vendor application deadlines are approaching.
If you are interested in reserving booth space as a Commercial Vendor, Non-Profit or as a part of the Riverfest Marketplace, please be sure to have your completed application turned in to Clarksville Parks and Recreation no later than the following dates:

Clarksville’s Riverfest announces 2013 Festival Headliners

Clarksville, TN – Riverfest is excited to announce the Friday and Saturday night headline performers for the 2013 festival to be held September 6th and 7th. The two-day festival has been celebrating music, arts and Clarksville river heritage for 26 years this year!
On, Friday, September 6th, Clarksville Riverfest is proud to welcome Christian recording group Sidewalk Prophets. Sidewalk Prophets will be performing at 9:00pm on the First Baptist Church Stage.
Country recording artist Phil Vassar to headline Clarksville’ Riverfest Saturday, September 7th.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation reports Yoga in the Park is back Wednesday

Clarksville, TN – Yoga enthusiasts rejoice! We will be starting Yoga in the Park again at McGregor Park this Wednesday morning from 6:00am-7:00am.
This free program is running through May 24th in partnership with the Clarksville YMCA.
