Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s Christmas on the Cumberland is sure to create lasting memories this holiday season as thousands experience the captivating displays of over one million lights!
Join the City of Clarksville and US Bank as we celebrate Christmas on the Cumberland’s 16th year with a grand opening ceremony, Tuesday, November 25th, 2014 at 6:30pm at the McGregor Park RiverWalk and Museum.
Battle of New Orleans Commeration to kick off in Clarksville Tennessee with keelboat sendoff

Clarksville, TN – On Nov. 13, 1814, a group of Tennessee Militia rendezvoused at Nashville to join Gen. Andrew Jackson in what has come to be called the Battle of New Orleans. They left Nashville on Nov. 18, 21, and 23 and marched to Clarksville, where they boarded flatboats for the long journey to New Orleans.
On Nov. 15, 2014, two hundred years later, Clarksvillians will again send Militia volunteers on a 40-fort keelboat replica down the Cumberland to re-enact that famous battle in New Orleans.

American Queen to dock again at Clarksville’s McGregor Park, Friday

Clarksville, TN – The American Queen of the American Queen Steamboat Company will be making another stop at McGregor Park on October 31st.
Make your way down to the Cumberland River on Friday, and you can see the largest steamboat in the world dock. There you can take look at the massive American Queen, a “genteel, floating antebellum mansion”, as their website describes it.
APSU ROTC Conducts “BLITZ” Training on Cumberland River

Clarksville, TN – Anyone driving down Riverside Drive on September 9th might have seen a peculiar sight on the Cumberland River near McGregor Park. Two zodiacs—black inflatable military boats—were crossing the river filled with Austin Peay State University Reserve Officer Training Corp (ROTC) cadets. The cadets were rowing fervently to get to the other side of the river, retrieve two mock casualties and transport them back to the APSU campus.
The mission was part of the ROTC program’s weekly Tuesday morning BLITZ. One cadet is chosen each week to lead the squad in a predetermined mission that creates an environment of adversity, both physically and mentally.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces winners of the Riverfest volunteer prize

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is happy to announce the winners of the Riverfest volunteer prize.
The ROTC program at Austin Peay State University will be awarded the $500.00 cash prize for providing the highest number of volunteer hours served at the 2014 Riverfest celebration held September 5th and 6th at McGregor Park.

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville, Miller Lite and Agero invites everyone to come out tonight, Friday, September 5th, to the 27th annual Riverfest Celebration at McGregor Park on the banks of the Cumberland River. Admission is free to this two day music and arts festival.
This year’s festival features local, regional and national entertainers and is a great event for the entire family. Tonight, nine bands will perform on two stages and are guaranteed to entertain and excite those in attendance.
Riverfest Festival Information, Parking and Riverside Drive Lane Closures announced

Clarksville, TN – There will be lane closures on Riverside Drive for Clarksville’s Riverfest Festival starting Friday, September 5th through Saturday, September 6th, 2014.
Traffic will be slower moving than usual during this time period, so we recommend drivers plan alternate routes or give themselves plenty of time to travel to their destination.
Free parking will be available at Austin Peay State University’s Dunn Center parking lot.

Riverfest 2014 to hold 1st Annual 52 Hour Film Festival presented by CDE Lightband this Saturday

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville’s Riverfest Celebration has added a new addition to it’s two-day music and arts festival scheduled for September 5th and 6th, 2014 at McGregor Park. The first annual 52-Hour Film Festival, presented by the Clarksville Department of Electricity, will take place Saturday, September 6th.
The 52 Hour Film Festival will put filmmakers from all over Middle Tennessee in a competition for a chance to win big!
