Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department and the Downtown Clarksville Association businesses celebrate National Walk in a Park Day

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s Parks & Recreation Department along with the Downtown Clarksville Association businesses will walk from the courtesy boat dock at McGregor Park to the North Extension and back, Friday, March 30th, 2012, in celebration of National Walk in a Park Day.

Dog Days at the Clarksville Downtown Market

Clarksville, TN – This Saturday at the market will be our “first” dog days at the market since the first one in June was rained out. Patrons are welcome and encouraged to bring their four-legged family members to the market on a leash for a stroll and enjoy the day.
While you are there you and your pet may want to stop by the Clarksville Montgomery Humane Society booth to enjoy what they have to offer during this day. Then be sure to check out the Montgomery County Friends of the Shelter booth for pet treats and information on how to adopt your next forever friend and help give a great home to dog or cat in need. Clarksville, TN – The next Mayor’s Fitness Council event will be Cooking with the Mayor at 9:00am August 27th at the Downtown Market.
Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan will discuss how to choose nourishing whole foods and incorporate them into delicious meals. Mayor Kim McMillan to Announce Fitness Council Members

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan will announce members of the Mayor’s Fitness Council at a July fitness event at 5:00pm Wednesday at Smith Pool.
Following the City Council’s approval on July 7th to establish the Fitness Council, McMillan will appoint the members to the new board, which will take a pro-active, multi-faceted approach to helping residents achieve and maintain a healthier lifestyle via education, becoming more active and proper nutrition.
