Road Closures announced for Rivers and Spires Festival

Clarksville, TN – Road closures for this week have been announced for the 10th Annual Rivers and Spires Festival in downtown Clarksville.

Child Abuse Prevention Poster Contest Winners Announced

Entries on display at several Nashville and Clarksville locations through April 30th
Nashville, TN – Kindergarten through eighth grade students attending four Clarksville and Nashville schools created winning entries in the 2012 Child Abuse Prevention Poster Contest sponsored by Catholic Charities of Tennessee. The more than 150 posters entries received illustrated the theme, ““A Happy Family Is…”.

Four Clarksville students won awards for their posters entered in the 2012 Child Abuse Prevention Poster Contest sponsored by Catholic Charities of Tennessee. Alaina Chandler, pictured with her art teacher Nancy Diamond, won first place in the Kindergarten – 2nd grade category. She is a second grade student at Immaculate Conception School.

Art Exhibit Features Lucille Richardson in April
Clarksville, TN – The Planters Bank-Hilldale First Thursday Art Exhibit will feature acrylic paintings from Ms. Lucille Richardson beginning Thursday, April 5th.
The public is invited to meet Ms. Richardson during a reception on April 5th from 2:00pm-3:00pm at the Hilldale branch at 1971 Madison Street.
Ms. Richardson, a native of Cunningham, Tennessee, was introduced to acrylics in the early 1970’s while she was a teacher’s aide at Erin Elementary School. Art Teacher Grace McDonnell encouraged her to attend an art class after seeing some of her creative classroom work.

Clarksville Transit System to provide Transportation for Christmas Celebration

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Transit System will provide “added service” transportation to the 4th Annual Warm Souls Christmas event provided by the Radical Mission Compassionate Ministries. The celebration will take place on December 24th, 2011 from noon to 4:00pm.
“We are very happy that the Clarksville Transit System is able to provide this added service transportation to this great community event through its existing routes,” said Mayor Kim McMillan. The Mayor is planning to ride one of the buses to the event. [Read more]
Hilldale Baptist Church presents “The Living Christmas Tree – Bethlehem Calls” this Weekend

Clarksville, TN – This weekend, the Hilldale Baptist Church will put on three presentations of “The Living Christmas Tree – Bethlehem Calls”. The event is free and open to the public.
The story line for this year’s “Tree” focuses on the wise men and their journey to find the new King. We’ll travel with them as they discover the star, travel to Jerusalem and then find Who they were searching for.
Planters Bank to Accept Donations for Phoenix Program During December
