Clarksville, TN – Altra Federal Credit Union raised over $21,000 nationally with its Drive Away Hunger Campaign. “Hunger is a very real concern in the communities we serve,” stated Cheryl Dutton, Vice President of Marketing for Altra Federal Credit Union. “Besides the financial contribution achieved by the campaign, Drive Away Hunger also generated awareness of the increasing need our communities face in feeding the hungry.”
Altra donated $10.00 for every car, truck, and motorcycle loan financed through Altra from October 1st through November 30th. [Read more]
Beverly Parker Shows Land Between the Rivers Images at Planters Bank in December

Clarksville, TN – The Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery will feature artwork by local photographer Beverly Parker from Thursday, December 4th – Wednesday, December 31st.
Parker’s exhibit, “An Alternative Prospective,” will showcase three different styles of photography: manipulated Polariods, Van Dyke Brown, and images and landscapes from the Land Between the Rivers.

Manna Café Ministries extends Warming Shelter Hours

Clarksville, TN – Manna Café Ministries is extending its emergency warming shelter until Thursday, November 20th, 2014, at 8:00am. The shelter is located in the TMS Contracting building (635 Frosty Morn Drive).

Clarksville, TN – Riverfest patrons got a taste of slight of hand and illusion Saturday, September 6th by magician Russ Nowack on the River of Culture Stage. From the rings to the disappearing silk handkerchief, Nowack amazed and mesmerized the adults and kids alike with his feats of magic.
With his people skills, he was able draw the audience into his act and had them participating as well.

Montgomery County, TN – Two back-to-back events will be held Saturday in honor of fallen Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Deputy David “Bubba” Johnson.
First, the Inaugural Bubba Johnson Memorial 5K Road Race begins at 8:30am Saturday, July 19th beginning at The Montgomery County Historic Courthouse, Clarksville, TN. There is also a 1-mile “fun run-walk” that will begin and end at Clarksville First Baptist Church.
