Jammin’ in the Alley rocked Friday night with The Rooted Wings

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s Department and Recreation held there second Jammin’ in the Alley concert of the year last night at Strawberry Alley. The concert showcased the talents of Rooted Wings, a musical duo comprised of John Winters and Samantha Hawkins.

After a few open mic night collaborations when Winters and Hawkins knew that they wanted to form a cohesive act together, and have combined their unique styles folding the blues, jazz, and a variety of popular music together into a fresh and rhythmic sound.

Clarksville Downtown Market opens tomorrow

Clarksville Downtown MarketClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Downtown Market opens at 8:00am Saturday, May 19th with approximately 60 vendors on hand to offer local fresh produce, baked goods, home décor, seasonal flowers and more. There will be live music by Lydia Walker.

For the kids. there will be be gardening crafts to participate in. Lousie Delgandio will be on hand to demonstrate how to make crepes. The first 600 visitors to the market, can visit the Clarksville Parks and Recreation booth to take home their very own market tote bag. There will also be give-a-ways handed out every thirty minutes.

The Clarksville Downtown Market will be open from 8:00am to 1:00pm every Saturday through October 19th on Public Square.

This months artwalk will be held on March 1st, 5:00pm until 8:00pm, and as always will be held in the shops and galleries on Public Square, Franklin Street, Strawberry Alley, Main Street and Second Street. Participating merchants include The Framemaker, Ingredients, Rogate’s Boutique, ARTifacts, Hodgepodge, and many more.

Grand Opening to Include Christian Vocalist Competition

The Lighthouse-Coffee House and Christian Concert VenueClarksville, TN – The Lighthouse Cafe invites you to the grand-opening of a new youth center serving the greater Clarksville region. Formerly a water-works building as well as a series of night clubs, Clarksville’s 808 South Riverside Drive is now known as The Lighthouse Cafe & Christian Concert Hall.

The all-volunteer staff is headed by Dara Smith, a Clarksville-area mother and real estate agent who left her career to join with like-minded individuals to create a safe, family-friendly outlet for youth.

Lydia WalkerClarksville TN – Local singer/songwriter Lydia Walker’s recent weekend digital album release party and music video premiere was a grand success! The excitement was at full throttle at Chick-fil-a of Madison Street as family and friends packed the dining area to view Lydia’s new video – When I Dance – for the first time.

Guests were also treated to personal introductions of each new song featured on Lydia’s project – Beloved. Main co-writer and producer Curt Ryle was on hand to enjoy the celebration as well as Sarah Lejeune of Feeling Good Entertainment who produced the music video.

6th Annual ‘Frolic on Franklin’ Showcases 30 Artists from Region

Historic Downtown Clarksville

Clarksville, TN – Downtown Clarksville’s 6th annual celebration of the arts, “Frolic on Franklin” will take place Saturday, September 17th. Hosted by the Downtown Clarksville Association, the event will showcase the works of 30 local and regional artists along the 100 block of historic Franklin Street.

A variety of original artwork and crafts will be on display including jewelry, pottery, water colors, woodwork, ceramics, glass items, photography and more. Items will be for sale with prices ranging from $2.00 – $2,000. Several artists will also provide demonstrations of their work throughout the day including painting and decorating glass ornaments, making wooden items with lathes, and various types of painting.
