2nd annual Be More Like Wade Scholarship 5k Run/Walk/Crawl exceeds expectations

Cunningham, TN – Last Saturday, July 30th, 2016 the 2nd annual “Be More Like Wade Scholarship 5K Run/Walk/Crawl” was held at the Montgomery Central Schools in honor of Wade Morgan. The race began at 8:30am.
All proceeds go into a scholarship fund which will be given to a Montgomery Central Senior who demonstrates similar characteristics of #bemorelikewade. He exemplified the true meaning of a genuine person by being a selfless individual and always having an optimistic outlook on life.

108th annual Lone Oak Picnic Simply Wonderful

Cunningham, TN – On Saturday, July 30th, 2016 the Central Civitan Club hosted the 108th annual Lone Oak Picnic at the Central Civitan Building. The event began at 10:00am and went on until around 3:00pm.
There was plenty of good conversations, entertainment and great food to go around. Those running for office were allowed to address those in attendance starting at 11:00am.
“We had a pretty good crowd this year. Appreciate everyone being here. If you weren’t able to be here, I’m sorry you missed it. Maybe you can be here next year,” said Larry Pitts with Central Civitan.

Cunningham, TN – This Saturday, July 30th, 2016, everyone is invited to come out for the 108th annual Lone Oak Picnic put on by the Central Civitan Club. The event will start at 10:00am and go until 2:00pm.
The Lone Oak Picnic will be held rain or shine. The rain Saturday is expected to start sometime in the afternoon after 1:00pm so we should have a dry event.
Come out and enjoy entertainment, meet public officials, and purchase excellent chicken and pork barbecue. The picnic grounds are located between Hwy 13 and Alonzo Place in Cunningham, TN.
Be More Like Wade 5k Run a huge success

Cunningham, TN – On Saturday, July 25th the Be More Like Wade 5k Scholarship Run/Walk/Crawl was held at the Central Civitan Club building just before the 107th annual Lone Oak Picnic. The race started at 8:30am.
“We’re here today having a scholarship run in memory of Wade Morgan,” said Jessica Morgan.
Wade Morgan passed away on March 3rd, 2015. He was a Montgomery Central High School graduate from the class of 2002. By creating this event the organizers hope Wade’s memory will live on and more people will #bemorelikewade.

Cunningham, TN – The Central Civitan Club will hold the 107th annual Lone Oak Picnic this Saturday, July 25th from 10:00am until 2:00pm. Everyone is invited to attend.
Come out and enjoy entertainment, meet public officials, and purchase excellent chicken and pork barbecue. The picnic grounds are located between Hwy 13 and Alonzo Place in Cunningham, TN.
Parking is off of Alonzo Place. Admission is free.
There will be musical entertainment and for the kids there will be train rides and inflatables.

Everyone had a good time, talking with friends, neighbors and family while eating good food and listening to great music at last year’s event.

Cunningham, TN – In honor of Wade Morgan’s memory a “Be More Like Wade Scholarship” 5K will take place Saturday, July 25th, 2015 at the Central Civitan Club building just before the 107th annual Lone Oak Picnic. Registration starts at 8:00am and the race is slated for 8:30am.

106th annual Lone Oak Picnic brought out the Cunningham Community Saturday, as well as the Candidates

Cunningham, TN – The Central Civitan Club held the 106th Annual Lone Oak Picnic on Saturday, July 27th, 2014 at the Central Civitan Building located on Alonzo Place. The picnic started at 10:00am and continued until 3:00pm.
The Civitan Club prepared 4 whole hogs, 30 shoulders and 300 chicken halves for the event. There was also ice cream, coke products and water available. It is estimated that just over 500 people turned out Saturday.
Central Civitan Club begins cooking barbecue for tomorrow’s 106th annual Lone Oak Picnic

Cunningham, TN – The 106th annual Lone Oak Picnic begins tomorrow, July 26th, at 10:00am. In preparation for the event, Central Civitan Club members began cooking their pork barbeque Friday night at 6:00pm. In total, they are cooking 4 whole hogs and 30 shoulders. They will also cook around 200 chickens.
“We cook our barbeque the old fashion way on a pit,” stated Charlie Davis. “It’s really the only way to cook good barbeque.” Charlie and his brother Billy Davis will be overseeing the cooking overnight. By 8:00am Saturday morning, the pork barbeque will be done and ready to pull.

Cunningham, TN – On Saturday, July 27th, the Central Civitan Club held the 105th Annual Lone Oak Picnic from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the Central Civitan Building located on Alonzo Place in Southern Montgomery County. By 11:00am, the parking area was overflowing with cars and trucks of those in attendance.
“This morning it was threatening rain, but the sun came out and we have a beautiful day for the event,” stated Central Civitan officer Larry Pitts.
